ਓਰੈ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਕਿਨਹੂ ਕੀਆ ॥
orai kachhoo na kinahoo keeaa ||
In this world, no one accomplishes anything by himself.
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਭੁ ਕਛੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੇ ਹੂਆ ॥੫੧॥
naanak sabh kachh prabh te hooaa ||51||
O Nanak, everything is done by God. ||51||

ਲੇਖੈ ਕਤਹਿ ਨ ਛੂਟੀਐ ਖਿਨੁ ਖਿਨੁ ਭੂਲਨਹਾਰ ॥
lekhai katahi na chhooteeai khin khin bhoolanahaar ||
Because of the balance due on his account, he can never be released; he makes mistakes each and every moment.
ਬਖਸਨਹਾਰ ਬਖਸਿ ਲੈ ਨਾਨਕ ਪਾਰਿ ਉਤਾਰ ॥੧॥
bakhasanahaar bakhas lai naanak paar utaar ||1||
O Forgiving Lord, please forgive me, and carry Nanak across. ||1||

ਲੂਣ ਹਰਾਮੀ ਗੁਨਹਗਾਰ ਬੇਗਾਨਾ ਅਲਪ ਮਤਿ ॥
loon haraamee gunahagaar begaanaa alap mat ||
The sinner is unfaithful to himself; he is ignorant, with shallow understanding.
ਜੀਉ ਪਿੰਡੁ ਜਿਨਿ ਸੁਖ ਦੀਏ ਤਾਹਿ ਨ ਜਾਨਤ ਤਤ ॥
jeeu pi(n)d jin sukh deee taahi na jaanat tat ||
He does not know the essence of all, the One who gave him body, soul and peace.
ਲਾਹਾ ਮਾਇਆ ਕਾਰਨੇ ਦਹ ਦਿਸਿ ਢੂਢਨ ਜਾਇ ॥
laahaa maaiaa kaarane dah dis dhoodhan jaai ||
For the sake of personal profit and Maya, he goes out, searching in the ten directions.
ਦੇਵਨਹਾਰ ਦਾਤਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਨਿਮਖ ਨ ਮਨਹਿ ਬਸਾਇ ॥
devanahaar daataar prabh nimakh na manahi basaai ||
He does not enshrine the Generous Lord God, the Great Giver, in his mind, even for an instant.
ਲਾਲਚ ਝੂਠ ਬਿਕਾਰ ਮੋਹ ਇਆ ਸੰਪੈ ਮਨ ਮਾਹਿ ॥
laalach jhooth bikaar moh iaa sa(n)pai man maahi ||
Greed, falsehood, corruption and emotional attachment - these are what he collects within his mind.
ਲੰਪਟ ਚੋਰ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਮਹਾ ਤਿਨਹੂ ਸੰਗਿ ਬਿਹਾਇ ॥
la(n)pat chor ni(n)dak mahaa tinahoo sa(n)g bihaai ||
The worst perverts, thieves and slanderers - he passes his time with them.
ਤੁਧੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਾ ਬਖਸਿ ਲੈਹਿ ਖੋਟੇ ਸੰਗਿ ਖਰੇ ॥
tudh bhaavai taa bakhas laihi khote sa(n)g khare ||
But if it pleases You, Lord, then You forgive the counterfeit along with the genuine.
ਨਾਨਕ ਭਾਵੈ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪਾਹਨ ਨੀਰਿ ਤਰੇ ॥੫੨॥
naanak bhaavai paarabraham paahan neer tare ||52||
O Nanak, if it pleases the Supreme Lord God, then even a stone will float on water. ||52||

ਖਾਤ ਪੀਤ ਖੇਲਤ ਹਸਤ ਭਰਮੇ ਜਨਮ ਅਨੇਕ ॥
khaat peet khelat hasat bharame janam anek ||
Eating, drinking, playing and laughing, I have wandered through countless incarnations.
ਭਵਜਲ ਤੇ ਕਾਢਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਤੇਰੀ ਟੇਕ ॥੧॥
bhavajal te kaadhahu prabhoo naanak teree tek ||1||
Please, God, lift me up and out of the terrifying world-ocean. Nanak seeks Your Support. ||1||

ਖੇਲਤ ਖੇਲਤ ਆਇਓ ਅਨਿਕ ਜੋਨਿ ਦੁਖ ਪਾਇ ॥
khelat khelat aaio anik jon dukh paai ||
Playing, playing, I have been reincarnated countless times, but this has only brought pain.
ਖੇਦ ਮਿਟੇ ਸਾਧੂ ਮਿਲਤ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਬਚਨ ਸਮਾਇ ॥
khed mite saadhoo milat satigur bachan samaai ||
Troubles are removed, when one meets with the Holy; immerse yourself in the Word of the True Guru.
ਖਿਮਾ ਗਹੀ ਸਚੁ ਸੰਚਿਓ ਖਾਇਓ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਨਾਮ ॥
khimaa gahee sach sa(n)chio khaaio a(n)mrit naam ||
Adopting an attitude of tolerance, and gathering truth, partake of the Ambrosial Nectar of the Name.
ਖਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਭਈ ਅਨਦ ਸੂਖ ਬਿਸ੍ਰਾਮ ॥
kharee kripaa thaakur bhaee anad sookh bisraam ||
When my Lord and Master showed His Great Mercy, I found peace, happiness and bliss.
ਖੇਪ ਨਿਬਾਹੀ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਲਾਭ ਘਰਿ ਆਏ ਪਤਿਵੰਤ ॥
khep nibaahee bahut laabh ghar aae pativa(n)t ||
My merchandise has arrived safely, and I have made a great profit; I have returned home with honor.
ਖਰਾ ਦਿਲਾਸਾ ਗੁਰਿ ਦੀਆ ਆਇ ਮਿਲੇ ਭਗਵੰਤ ॥
kharaa dilaasaa gur deeaa aai mile bhagava(n)t ||
The Guru has given me great consolation, and the Lord God has come to meet me.
ਆਪਨ ਕੀਆ ਕਰਹਿ ਆਪਿ ਆਗੈ ਪਾਛੈ ਆਪਿ ॥
aapan keeaa karahi aap aagai paachhai aap ||
He Himself has acted, and He Himself acts. He was in the past, and He shall be in the future.
ਨਾਨਕ ਸੋਊ ਸਰਾਹੀਐ ਜਿ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਬਿਆਪਿ ॥੫੩॥
naanak sooo saraaheeai j ghat ghat rahiaa biaap ||53||
O Nanak, praise the One, who is contained in each and every heart. ||53||

ਆਏ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਰਨਾਗਤੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਿਧਿ ਦਇਆਲ ॥
aae prabh saranaagatee kirapaa nidh daiaal ||
O God, I have come to Your Sanctuary, O Merciful Lord, Ocean of compassion.
ਏਕ ਅਖਰੁ ਹਰਿ ਮਨਿ ਬਸਤ ਨਾਨਕ ਹੋਤ ਨਿਹਾਲ ॥੧॥
ek akhar har man basat naanak hot nihaal ||1||
One whose mind is filled with the One Word of the Lord, O Nanak, becomes totally blissful. ||1||

ਅਖਰ ਮਹਿ ਤ੍ਰਿਭਵਨ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਧਾਰੇ ॥
akhar mahi tribhavan prabh dhaare ||
In the Word, God established the three worlds.
ਅਖਰ ਕਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਬੇਦ ਬੀਚਾਰੇ ॥
akhar kar kar bed beechaare ||
Created from the Word, the Vedas are contemplated.
ਅਖਰ ਸਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਸਿੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਪੁਰਾਨਾ ॥
akhar saasatr si(n)mrit puraanaa ||
From the Word, came the Shaastras, Simritees and Puraanas.
ਅਖਰ ਨਾਦ ਕਥਨ ਵਖੵਾਨਾ ॥
akhar naad kathan vakhyaanaa ||
From the Word, came the sound current of the Naad, speeches and explanations.
ਅਖਰ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਭੈ ਭਰਮਾ ॥
akhar mukat jugat bhai bharamaa ||
From the Word, comes the way of liberation from fear and doubt.
ਅਖਰ ਕਰਮ ਕਿਰਤਿ ਸੁਚ ਧਰਮਾ ॥
akhar karam kirat such dharamaa ||
From the Word, come religious rituals, karma, sacredness and Dharma.
ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿਮਾਨ ਅਖਰ ਹੈ ਜੇਤਾ ॥
drisatimaan akhar hai jetaa ||
In the visible universe, the Word is seen.
ਨਾਨਕ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਨਿਰਲੇਪਾ ॥੫੪॥
naanak paarabraham niralepaa ||54||
O Nanak, the Supreme Lord God remains unattached and untouched. ||54||

ਹਥਿ ਕਲੰਮ ਅਗੰਮ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਲਿਖਾਵਤੀ ॥
hath kala(n)m aga(n)m masatak likhaavatee ||
With pen in hand, the Inaccessible Lord writes man's destiny on his forehead.
ਉਰਝਿ ਰਹਿਓ ਸਭ ਸੰਗਿ ਅਨੂਪ ਰੂਪਾਵਤੀ ॥
urajh rahio sabh sa(n)g anoop roopaavatee ||
The Lord of Incomparable Beauty is involved with all.
ਉਸਤਤਿ ਕਹਨੁ ਨ ਜਾਇ ਮੁਖਹੁ ਤੁਹਾਰੀਆ ॥
usatat kahan na jaai mukhahu tuhaareeaa ||
I cannot describe Your Praises with my mouth, O Lord.
ਮੋਹੀ ਦੇਖਿ ਦਰਸੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀਆ ॥੧॥
mohee dekh daras naanak balihaareeaa ||1||
Nanak is fascinated, gazing upon the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan; he is a sacrifice to You. ||1||

ਹੇ ਅਚੁਤ ਹੇ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਅਘਨਾਸ ॥
he achut he paarabraham abinaasee aghanaas ||
O Immovable Lord, O Supreme Lord God, Imperishable, Destroyer of sins:
ਹੇ ਪੂਰਨ ਹੇ ਸਰਬ ਮੈ ਦੁਖ ਭੰਜਨ ਗੁਣਤਾਸ ॥
he pooran he sarab mai dukh bha(n)jan gunataas ||
O Perfect, All-pervading Lord, Destroyer of pain, Treasure of virtue:
ਹੇ ਸੰਗੀ ਹੇ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰ ਹੇ ਨਿਰਗੁਣ ਸਭ ਟੇਕ ॥
he sa(n)gee he nira(n)kaar he niragun sabh tek ||
O Companion, Formless, Absolute Lord, Support of all:
ਹੇ ਗੋਬਿਦ ਹੇ ਗੁਣ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸਦਾ ਬਿਬੇਕ ॥
he gobid he gun nidhaan jaa kai sadaa bibek ||
O Lord of the Universe, Treasure of excellence, with clear eternal understanding:
ਹੇ ਅਪਰੰਪਰ ਹਰਿ ਹਰੇ ਹਹਿ ਭੀ ਹੋਵਨਹਾਰ ॥
he apara(n)par har hare hahi bhee hovanahaar ||
Most Remote of the Remote, Lord God: You are, You were, and You shall always be.
ਹੇ ਸੰਤਹ ਕੈ ਸਦਾ ਸੰਗਿ ਨਿਧਾਰਾ ਆਧਾਰ ॥
he sa(n)tah kai sadaa sa(n)g nidhaaraa aadhaar ||
O Constant Companion of the Saints, You are the Support of the unsupported.
ਹੇ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਹਉ ਦਾਸਰੋ ਮੈ ਨਿਰਗੁਨ ਗੁਨੁ ਨਹੀ ਕੋਇ ॥
he thaakur hau daasaro mai niragun gun nahee koi ||
O my Lord and Master, I am Your slave. I am worthless, I have no worth at all.
