ਅੰਤਰ ਕਾ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੁ ਜੋਰੁ ਤੂ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਜਾਨਤਾ ਇਹੁ ਦੂਰਿ ਕਰਹੁ ਆਪਨ ਗਹੁ ਰੇ ॥

a(n)tar kaa abhimaan jor too kichh kichh kichh jaanataa ihu door karahu aapan gahu re ||

So you think that the egotistical pride in power which you harbor deep within is everything. Let it go, and restrain your self-conceit.

ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਹਰਿ ਦਇਆਲ ਹੋਹੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹਰਿ ਸੰਤਨ ਕੀ ਧੂਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਹਰੇ ॥੨॥੧॥੨॥

jan naanak kau har daiaal hohu suaamee har sa(n)tan kee dhoor kar hare ||2||1||2||

Please be kind to servant Nanak, O Lord, my Lord and Master; please make him the dust of the Feet of the Saints. ||2||1||2||

ਮਾਈ ਸੰਤਸੰਗਿ ਜਾਗੀ ॥ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਰੰਗ ਦੇਖੈ ਜਪਤੀ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੀ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

maaee sa(n)tasa(n)g jaagee || pri ra(n)g dekhai japatee naam nidhaanee || rahaau ||

O mother, I have awakened in the Society of the Saints. Seeing the Love of my Beloved, I chant His Name, the greatest treasure ||Pause||

ਦਰਸਨ ਪਿਆਸ ਲੋਚਨ ਤਾਰ ਲਾਗੀ ॥

darasan piaas lochan taar laagee ||

I am so thirsty for the Blessed Vision of His Darshan. my eyes are focused on Him;

ਬਿਸਰੀ ਤਿਆਸ ਬਿਡਾਨੀ ॥੧॥

bisaree tiaas bidaanee ||1||

I have forgotten other thirsts. ||1||

ਅਬ ਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਇਓ ਹੈ ਸਹਜ ਸੁਖਦਾਇਕ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਪੇਖਤ ਮਨੁ ਲਪਟਾਨੀ ॥

ab gur paaio hai sahaj sukhadaaik darasan pekhat man lapataanee ||

Now, I have found my Peace-giving Guru with ease; seeing His Darshan, my mind clings to Him.

ਦੇਖਿ ਦਮੋਦਰ ਰਹਸੁ ਮਨਿ ਉਪਜਿਓ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਬਾਨੀ ॥੨॥੧॥

dekh damodar rahas man upajio naanak pri a(n)mrit baanee ||2||1||

Seeing my Lord, joy has welled up in my mind; O Nanak, the speech of my Beloved is so sweet! ||2||1||

ਦੀਨ ਬਿਨਉ ਸੁਨੁ ਦਇਆਲ ॥

deen binau sun daiaal ||

Please listen to the prayers of the humble, O Merciful Lord.

ਪੰਚ ਦਾਸ ਤੀਨਿ ਦੋਖੀ ਏਕ ਮਨੁ ਅਨਾਥ ਨਾਥ ॥

pa(n)ch daas teen dokhee ek man anaath naath ||

The five thieves and the three dispositions torment my mind.

ਰਾਖੁ ਹੋ ਕਿਰਪਾਲ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

raakh ho kirapaal || rahaau ||

O Merciful Lord, Master of the masterless, please save me from them. ||Pause||

ਅਨਿਕ ਜਤਨ ਗਵਨੁ ਕਰਉ ॥

anik jatan gavan karau ||

I make all sorts of efforts and go on pilgrimages;

ਖਟੁ ਕਰਮ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਧਿਆਨੁ ਧਰਉ ॥

khat karam jugat dhiaan dharau ||

I perform the six rituals, and meditate in the right way.

ਉਪਾਵ ਸਗਲ ਕਰਿ ਹਾਰਿਓ ਨਹ ਨਹ ਹੁਟਹਿ ਬਿਕਰਾਲ ॥੧॥

upaav sagal kar haario nah nah hutahi bikaraal ||1||

I am so tired of making all these efforts, but the horrible demons still do not leave me. ||1||

ਸਰਣਿ ਬੰਦਨ ਕਰੁਣਾ ਪਤੇ ॥

saran ba(n)dan karunaa pate ||

I seek Your Sanctuary, and bow to You, O Compassionate Lord.

ਭਵ ਹਰਣ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰੇ ॥

bhav haran har har har hare ||

You are the Destroyer of fear, O Lord, Har, Har, Har, Har.

ਏਕ ਤੂਹੀ ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲ ॥

ek toohee deen daiaal ||

You alone are Merciful to the meek.

ਪ੍ਰਭ ਚਰਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਆਸਰੋ ॥

prabh charan naanak aasaro ||

Nanak takes the Support of God's Feet.

ਉਧਰੇ ਭ੍ਰਮ ਮੋਹ ਸਾਗਰ ॥

udhare bhram moh saagar ||

I have been rescued from the ocean of doubt,

ਲਗਿ ਸੰਤਨਾ ਪਗ ਪਾਲ ॥੨॥੧॥੨॥

lag sa(n)tanaa pag paal ||2||1||2||

holding tight to the feet and the robes of the Saints. ||2||1||2||

ਸਰਨੀ ਆਇਓ ਨਾਥ ਨਿਧਾਨ ॥

saranee aaio naath nidhaan ||

I have come to Your Sanctuary, O Lord, O Supreme Treasure.

ਨਾਮ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਲਾਗੀ ਮਨ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਮਾਗਨ ਕਉ ਹਰਿ ਦਾਨ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

naam preet laagee man bheetar maagan kau har daan ||1|| rahaau ||

Love for the Naam, the Name of the Lord, is enshrined within my mind; I beg for the gift of Your Name. ||1||Pause||

ਸੁਖਦਾਈ ਪੂਰਨ ਪਰਮੇਸੁਰ ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਮਾਨ ॥

sukhadaaee pooran paramesur kar kirapaa raakhahu maan ||

O Pefect Transcendent Lord, Giver of Peace, please grant Your Grace and save my honor.

ਦੇਹੁ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਨ ਰਸਨ ਬਖਾਨ ॥੧॥

dehu preet saadhoo sa(n)g suaamee har gun rasan bakhaan ||1||

Please bless me with such love, O my Lord and Master, that in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, I may chant the Glorious Praises of the Lord with my tongue. ||1||

ਗੋਪਾਲ ਦਇਆਲ ਗੋਬਿਦ ਦਮੋਦਰ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਕਥਾ ਗਿਆਨ ॥

gopaal daiaal gobid damodar niramal kathaa giaan ||

O Lord of the World, Merciful Lord of the Universe, Your sermon and spiritual wisdom are immaculate and pure.

ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਹਰਿ ਕੈ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਗਹੁ ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਸੰਗਿ ਧਿਆਨ ॥੨॥੧॥੩॥

naanak kau har kai ra(n)g raagahu charan kamal sa(n)g dhiaan ||2||1||3||

Please attune Nanak to Your Love, O Lord, and focus his meditation on Your Lotus Feet. ||2||1||3||

ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਦਰਸਨ ਕੋ ਮਨਿ ਚਾਉ ॥

My mind yearns for the Blessed Vision of the Lord's Darshan.

ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਸਤਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਹੁ ਤੁਮ ਦੇਵਹੁ ਅਪਨੋ ਨਾਉ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

kar kirapaa satasa(n)g milaavahu tum devahu apano naau || rahaau ||

Please grant Your Grace, and unite me with the Society of the Saints; please bless me with Your Name. ||Pause||

ਕਰਉ ਸੇਵਾ ਸਤ ਪੁਰਖ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਜਤ ਸੁਨੀਐ ਤਤ ਮਨਿ ਰਹਸਾਉ ॥

karau sevaa sat purakh piaare jat suneeai tat man rahasaau ||

I serve my True Beloved Lord. Wherever I hear His Praise, there my mind is in ecstasy.
