ਲਗਿ ਲਗਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਬਹੁ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਲਗਾਈ ਲਗਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਿ ਸਵਾਰੇ ॥
lag lag preet bahu preet lagaaee lag saadhoo sa(n)g savaare ||
Fall in love, fall deeply in love with the Lord; clinging to the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, you will be exalted and embellished.
ਗੁਰ ਕੇ ਬਚਨ ਸਤਿ ਸਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਮਾਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥੬॥
gur ke bachan sat sat kar maane mere thaakur bahut piaare ||6||
Those who accept the Word of the Guru as True, totally True, are very dear to my Lord and Master. ||6||
ਪੂਰਬਿ ਜਨਮਿ ਪਰਚੂਨ ਕਮਾਏ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥
poorab janam parachoon kamaae har har har naam piaare ||
Because of actions committed in past lives, one comes to love the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, Har.
ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਰਸੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਰਸੁ ਗਾਵੈ ਰਸੁ ਵੀਚਾਰੇ ॥੭॥
gur prasaad a(n)mrit ras paaiaa ras gaavai ras veechaare ||7||
By Guru's Grace, you shall obtain the ambrosial essence; sing of this essence, and reflect upon this essence. ||7||
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਰੂਪ ਰੰਗ ਸਭਿ ਤੇਰੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਾਲਨ ਲਾਲ ਗੁਲਾਰੇ ॥
har har roop ra(n)g sabh tere mere laalan laal gulaare ||
O Lord, Har, Har, all forms and colors are Yours; O my Beloved, my deep crimson ruby.
ਜੈਸਾ ਰੰਗੁ ਦੇਹਿ ਸੋ ਹੋਵੈ ਕਿਆ ਨਾਨਕ ਜੰਤ ਵਿਚਾਰੇ ॥੮॥੩॥
jaisaa ra(n)g dehi so hovai kiaa naanak ja(n)t vichaare ||8||3||
Only that color which You impart, Lord, exists; O Nanak, what can the poor wretched being do? ||8||3||

Nat, Fourth Mehl:
ਰਾਮ ਗੁਰ ਸਰਨਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਰਖਵਾਰੇ ॥
raam gur saran prabhoo rakhavaare ||
In the Sanctuary of the Guru, the Lord God saves and protects us,
ਜਿਉ ਕੁੰਚਰੁ ਤਦੂਐ ਪਕਰਿ ਚਲਾਇਓ ਕਰਿ ਊਪਰੁ ਕਢਿ ਨਿਸਤਾਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jiu ku(n)char tadooai pakar chalaaio kar oopar kadh nisataare ||1|| rahaau ||
as He protected the elephant, when the crocodile seized it and pulled it into the water; He lifted him up and pulled him out. ||1||Pause||
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਅਤਿ ਨੀਕੇ ਮਨਿ ਸਰਧਾ ਕਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਧਾਰੇ ॥
prabh ke sevak bahut at neeke man saradhaa kar har dhaare ||
God's servants are sublime and exalted; they enshrine faith for Him in their minds.
ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਸਰਧਾ ਭਗਤਿ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਵੈ ਜਨ ਕੀ ਪੈਜ ਸਵਾਰੇ ॥੧॥
mere prabh saradhaa bhagat man bhaavai jan kee paij savaare ||1||
Faith and devotion are pleasing to my God's Mind; He saves the honor of His humble servants. ||1||
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਸੇਵਾ ਲਾਗੈ ਸਭੁ ਦੇਖੈ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪਸਾਰੇ ॥
har har sevak sevaa laagai sabh dekhai braham pasaare ||
The servant of the Lord, Har, Har, is committed to His service; He sees God pervading the entire expanse of the universe.
ਏਕੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਇਕੁ ਨਦਰੀ ਆਵੈ ਸਭ ਏਕਾ ਨਦਰਿ ਨਿਹਾਰੇ ॥੨॥
ek purakh ik nadaree aavai sabh ekaa nadar nihaare ||2||
He sees the One and only Primal Lord God, who blesses all with His Glance of Grace. ||2||
ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਰਵਿਆ ਸਭ ਠਾਈ ਸਭੁ ਚੇਰੀ ਜਗਤੁ ਸਮਾਰੇ ॥
har prabh thaakur raviaa sabh thaaee sabh cheree jagat samaare ||
God, our Lord and Master, is permeating and pervading all places; He takes care of the whole world as His slave.
ਆਪਿ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਦਇਆ ਦਾਨੁ ਦੇਵੈ ਵਿਚਿ ਪਾਥਰ ਕੀਰੇ ਕਾਰੇ ॥੩॥
aap daiaal daiaa daan devai vich paathar keere kaare ||3||
The Merciful Lord Himself mercifully gives His gifts, even to worms in stones. ||3||
ਅੰਤਰਿ ਵਾਸੁ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਮੁਸਕਾਈ ਭ੍ਰਮਿ ਭੂਲਾ ਮਿਰਗੁ ਸਿੰਙ੍ਹਾਰੇ ॥
a(n)tar vaas bahut musakaaee bhram bhoolaa mirag si(n)nghaare ||
Within the deer is the heavy fragrance of musk, but he is confused and deluded, and he shakes his horns looking for it.
ਬਨੁ ਬਨੁ ਢੂਢਿ ਢੂਢਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਥਾਕੀ ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਘਰਿ ਨਿਸਤਾਰੇ ॥੪॥
ban ban dhoodh dhoodh phir thaakee gur poorai ghar nisataare ||4||
Wandering, rambling and roaming through the forests and woods, I exhausted myself, and then in my own home, the Perfect Guru saved me. ||4||
ਬਾਣੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਗੁਰੂ ਹੈ ਬਾਣੀ ਵਿਚਿ ਬਾਣੀ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਸਾਰੇ ॥
baanee guroo guroo hai baanee vich baanee a(n)mrit saare ||
The Word, the Bani is Guru, and Guru is the Bani. Within the Bani, the Ambrosial Nectar is contained.
ਗੁਰੁ ਬਾਣੀ ਕਹੈ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਜਨੁ ਮਾਨੈ ਪਰਤਖਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਿਸਤਾਰੇ ॥੫॥
gur baanee kahai sevak jan maanai paratakh guroo nisataare ||5||
If His humble servant believes, and acts according to the Words of the Guru's Bani, then the Guru, in person, emancipates him. ||5||
ਸਭੁ ਹੈ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਹੈ ਪਸਰਿਆ ਮਨਿ ਬੀਜਿਆ ਖਾਵਾਰੇ ॥
sabh hai braham braham hai pasariaa man beejiaa khaavaare ||
All is God, and God is the whole expanse; man eats what he has planted.
ਜਿਉ ਜਨ ਚੰਦ੍ਰਹਾਂਸੁ ਦੁਖਿਆ ਧ੍ਰਿਸਟਬੁਧੀ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਘਰੁ ਲੂਕੀ ਜਾਰੇ ॥੬॥
jiu jan cha(n)drahaa(n)s dukhiaa dhrisatabudhee apunaa ghar lookee jaare ||6||
When Dhrishtabudhi tormented the humble devotee Chandrahaans, he only set his own house on fire. ||6||
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਉ ਜਨੁ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਰਿਦ ਲੋਚੈ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜਨ ਕੇ ਸਾਸ ਨਿਹਾਰੇ ॥
prabh kau jan a(n)tar rid lochai prabh jan ke saas nihaare ||
God's humble servant longs for Him within his heart; God watches over each breath of His humble servant.
ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਏ ਜਨ ਪੀਛੈ ਜਗੁ ਨਿਸਤਾਰੇ ॥੭॥
kripaa kripaa kar bhagat driRaae jan peechhai jag nisataare ||7||
Mercifully, mercifully, He implants devotion within his humble servant; for his sake, God saves the whole world. ||7||
ਆਪਨ ਆਪਿ ਆਪਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਪੇ ਸ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਸਵਾਰੇ ॥
aapan aap aap prabh thaakur prabh aape srisat savaare ||
God, our Lord and Master, is Himself by Himself; God Himself embellishes the universe.
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਆਪੇ ਆਪਿ ਸਭੁ ਵਰਤੈ ਕਰਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਆਪਿ ਨਿਸਤਾਰੇ ॥੮॥੪॥
jan naanak aape aap sabh varatai kar kripaa aap nisataare ||8||4||
O servant Nanak, He Himself is all-pervading; in His Mercy, He Himself emancipates all. ||8||4||

Nat, Fourth Mehl:
ਰਾਮ ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਲੇਹੁ ਉਬਾਰੇ ॥
raam kar kirapaa lehu ubaare ||
Grant Your Grace, Lord, and save me,
ਜਿਉ ਪਕਰਿ ਦ੍ਰੋਪਤੀ ਦੁਸਟਾਂ ਆਨੀ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਲਾਜ ਨਿਵਾਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jiu pakar dropatee dusataa(n) aanee har har laaj nivaare ||1|| rahaau ||
as You saved Dropadi from shame when she was seized and brought before the court by the evil villians. ||1||Pause||
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਜਾਚਿਕ ਜਨ ਤੇਰੇ ਇਕੁ ਮਾਗਉ ਦਾਨੁ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥
kar kirapaa jaachik jan tere ik maagau daan piaare ||
Bless me with Your Grace - I am just a humble beggar of Yours; I beg for a single blessing, O my Beloved.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਨਿਤ ਸਰਧਾ ਲਾਗੀ ਮੋ ਕਉ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਰੁ ਮੇਲਿ ਸਵਾਰੇ ॥੧॥
satigur kee nit saradhaa laagee mo kau har gur mel savaare ||1||
I long constantly for the True Guru. Lead me to meet the Guru, O Lord, that I may be exalted and embellished. ||1||
ਸਾਕਤ ਕਰਮ ਪਾਣੀ ਜਿਉ ਮਥੀਐ ਨਿਤ ਪਾਣੀ ਝੋਲ ਝੁਲਾਰੇ ॥
saakat karam paanee jiu matheeai nit paanee jhol jhulaare ||
The actions of the faithless cynic are like the churning of water; he churns, constantly churning only water.
ਮਿਲਿ ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਪਰਮ ਪਦੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਕਢਿ ਮਾਖਨ ਕੇ ਗਟਕਾਰੇ ॥੨॥
mil satasa(n)gat param pad paaiaa kadh maakhan ke gatakaare ||2||
Joining the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation, the supreme status is obtained; the butter is produced, and eaten with delight. ||2||
ਨਿਤ ਨਿਤ ਕਾਇਆ ਮਜਨੁ ਕੀਆ ਨਿਤ ਮਲਿ ਮਲਿ ਦੇਹ ਸਵਾਰੇ ॥
nit nit kaaiaa majan keeaa nit mal mal deh savaare ||
He may constantly and continually wash his body; he may constantly rub, clean and polish his body.
