ਦੁਖ ਬਿਸਾਰਿ ਸੁਖ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਲੀਨਾ ॥੧॥

dukh bisaar sukh a(n)tar leenaa ||1||

My pain is forgotten, and I have found peace deep within myself. ||1||

ਗਿਆਨ ਅੰਜਨੁ ਮੋ ਕਉ ਗੁਰਿ ਦੀਨਾ ॥

giaan a(n)jan mo kau gur deenaa ||

The Guru has blessed me with the ointment of spiritual wisdom.

ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨੁ ਜੀਵਨੁ ਮਨ ਹੀਨਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

raam naam bin jeevan man heenaa ||1|| rahaau ||

Without the Lord's Name, life is mindless. ||1||Pause||

ਨਾਮਦੇਇ ਸਿਮਰਨੁ ਕਰਿ ਜਾਨਾਂ ॥

naamadei simaran kar jaanaa(n) ||

Meditating in remembrance, Naam Dayv has come to know the Lord.

ਜਗਜੀਵਨ ਸਿਉ ਜੀਉ ਸਮਾਨਾਂ ॥੨॥੧॥

jagajeevan siu jeeu samaanaa(n) ||2||1||

His soul is blended with the Lord, the Life of the World. ||2||1||

ਦਾਰਿਦੁ ਦੇਖਿ ਸਭ ਕੋ ਹਸੈ ਐਸੀ ਦਸਾ ਹਮਾਰੀ ॥

daarid dekh sabh ko hasai aisee dasaa hamaaree ||

Seeing my poverty, everyone laughed. Such was my condition.

ਅਸਟ ਦਸਾ ਸਿਧਿ ਕਰ ਤਲੈ ਸਭ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਤੁਮਾਰੀ ॥੧॥

asat dasaa sidh kar talai sabh kripaa tumaaree ||1||

Now, I hold the eighteen miraculous spiritual powers in the palm of my hand; everything is by Your Grace. ||1||

ਤੂ ਜਾਨਤ ਮੈ ਕਿਛੁ ਨਹੀ ਭਵ ਖੰਡਨ ਰਾਮ ॥

too jaanat mai kichh nahee bhav kha(n)dan raam ||

You know, and I am nothing, O Lord, Destroyer of fear.

ਸਗਲ ਜੀਅ ਸਰਨਾਗਤੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪੂਰਨ ਕਾਮ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

sagal jee saranaagatee prabh pooran kaam ||1|| rahaau ||

All beings seek Your Sanctuary, O God, Fulfiller, Resolver of our affairs. ||1||Pause||

ਜੋ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਨਾਗਤਾ ਤਿਨ ਨਾਹੀ ਭਾਰੁ ॥

jo teree saranaagataa tin naahee bhaar ||

Whoever enters Your Sanctuary, is relieved of his burden of sin.

ਊਚ ਨੀਚ ਤੁਮ ਤੇ ਤਰੇ ਆਲਜੁ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ॥੨॥

ooch neech tum te tare aalaj sa(n)saar ||2||

You have saved the high and the low from the shameless world. ||2||

ਕਹਿ ਰਵਿਦਾਸ ਅਕਥ ਕਥਾ ਬਹੁ ਕਾਇ ਕਰੀਜੈ ॥

kahi ravidaas akath kathaa bahu kaai kareejai ||

Says Ravi Daas, what more can be said about the Unspoken Speech?

ਜੈਸਾ ਤੂ ਤੈਸਾ ਤੁਹੀ ਕਿਆ ਉਪਮਾ ਦੀਜੈ ॥੩॥੧॥

jaisaa too taisaa tuhee kiaa upamaa deejai ||3||1||

Whatever You are, You are, O Lord; how can anything compare with Your Praises? ||3||1||

ਬਿਲਾਵਲੁ ॥

bilaaval ||

Bilaaval:

ਜਿਹ ਕੁਲ ਸਾਧੁ ਬੈਸਨੌ ਹੋਇ ॥

jih kul saadh baisanau hoi ||

That family, into which a holy person is born,

ਬਰਨ ਅਬਰਨ ਰੰਕੁ ਨਹੀ ਈਸੁਰੁ ਬਿਮਲ ਬਾਸੁ ਜਾਨੀਐ ਜਗਿ ਸੋਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

baran abaran ra(n)k nahee eesur bimal baas jaaneeai jag soi ||1|| rahaau ||

whether of high or low social class, whether rich or poor, shall have its pure fragrance spread all over the world. ||1||Pause||

ਬ੍ਰਹਮਨ ਬੈਸ ਸੂਦ ਅਰੁ ਖੵਤ੍ਰੀ ਡੋਮ ਚੰਡਾਰ ਮਲੇਛ ਮਨ ਸੋਇ ॥

brahaman bais sood ar khytree dom cha(n)daar malechh man soi ||

Whether he is a Brahmin, a Vaishya, a Soodra, or a Kh'shaatriya; whether he is a poet, an outcaste, or a filthy-minded person,

ਹੋਇ ਪੁਨੀਤ ਭਗਵੰਤ ਭਜਨ ਤੇ ਆਪੁ ਤਾਰਿ ਤਾਰੇ ਕੁਲ ਦੋਇ ॥੧॥

hoi puneet bhagava(n)t bhajan te aap taar taare kul doi ||1||

he becomes pure, by meditating on the Lord God. He saves himself, and the families of both his parents. ||1||

ਧੰਨਿ ਸੁ ਗਾਉ ਧੰਨਿ ਸੋ ਠਾਉ ਧੰਨਿ ਪੁਨੀਤ ਕੁਟੰਬ ਸਭ ਲੋਇ ॥

dha(n)n s gaau dha(n)n so thaau dha(n)n puneet kuta(n)b sabh loi ||

Blessed is that village, and blessed is the place of his birth; blessed is his pure family, throughout all the worlds.

ਜਿਨਿ ਪੀਆ ਸਾਰ ਰਸੁ ਤਜੇ ਆਨ ਰਸ ਹੋਇ ਰਸ ਮਗਨ ਡਾਰੇ ਬਿਖੁ ਖੋਇ ॥੨॥

jin peeaa saar ras taje aan ras hoi ras magan daare bikh khoi ||2||

One who drinks in the sublime essence abandons other tastes; intoxicated with this divine essence, he discards sin and corruption. ||2||

ਪੰਡਿਤ ਸੂਰ ਛਤ੍ਰਪਤਿ ਰਾਜਾ ਭਗਤ ਬਰਾਬਰਿ ਅਉਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥

pa(n)dit soor chhatrapat raajaa bhagat baraabar aur na koi ||

Among the religious scholars, warriors and kings, there is no other equal to the Lord's devotee.

ਜੈਸੇ ਪੁਰੈਨ ਪਾਤ ਰਹੈ ਜਲ ਸਮੀਪ ਭਨਿ ਰਵਿਦਾਸ ਜਨਮੇ ਜਗਿ ਓਇ ॥੩॥੨॥

jaise purain paat rahai jal sameep bhan ravidaas janame jag oi ||3||2||

As the leaves of the water lily float free in the water, says Ravi Daas, so is their life in the world. ||3||2||

ਬਾਣੀ ਸਧਨੇ ਕੀ ਰਾਗੁ ਬਿਲਾਵਲੁ ॥

baanee sadhane kee raag bilaaval ||

ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਕੰਨਿਆ ਕੇ ਕਾਰਨੈ ਇਕੁ ਭਇਆ ਭੇਖਧਾਰੀ ॥

nrip ka(n)niaa ke kaaranai ik bhaiaa bhekhadhaaree ||

For a king's daughter, a man disguised himself as Vishnu.

ਕਾਮਾਰਥੀ ਸੁਆਰਥੀ ਵਾ ਕੀ ਪੈਜ ਸਵਾਰੀ ॥੧॥

kaamaarathee suaarathee vaa kee paij savaaree ||1||

He did it for sexual exploitation, and for selfish motives, but the Lord protected his honor. ||1||

ਤਵ ਗੁਨ ਕਹਾ ਜਗਤ ਗੁਰਾ ਜਉ ਕਰਮੁ ਨ ਨਾਸੈ ॥

tav gun kahaa jagat guraa jau karam na naasai ||

What is Your value, O Guru of the world, if You will not erase the karma of my past actions?

ਸਿੰਘ ਸਰਨ ਕਤ ਜਾਈਐ ਜਉ ਜੰਬੁਕੁ ਗ੍ਰਾਸੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

si(n)gh saran kat jaaeeai jau ja(n)buk graasai ||1|| rahaau ||

Why seek safety from a lion, if one is to be eaten by a jackal? ||1||Pause||

ਏਕ ਬੂੰਦ ਜਲ ਕਾਰਨੇ ਚਾਤ੍ਰਿਕੁ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਾਵੈ ॥

ek boo(n)d jal kaarane chaatrik dukh paavai ||

For the sake of a single rain-drop, the rainbird suffers in pain.

ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਗਏ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਫੁਨਿ ਕਾਮਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ॥੨॥

praan gae saagar milai phun kaam na aavai ||2||

When its breath of life is gone, even an ocean is of no use to it. ||2||

ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਜੁ ਥਾਕੇ ਥਿਰੁ ਨਹੀ ਕੈਸੇ ਬਿਰਮਾਵਉ ॥

praan j thaake thir nahee kaise biramaavau ||

Now, my life has grown weary, and I shall not last much longer; how can I be patient?

ਬੂਡਿ ਮੂਏ ਨਉਕਾ ਮਿਲੈ ਕਹੁ ਕਾਹਿ ਚਢਾਵਉ ॥੩॥

bood mooe naukaa milai kahu kaahi chadhaavau ||3||

If I drown and die, and then a boat comes along, tell me, how shall I climb aboard? ||3||

ਮੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਕਛੁ ਹਉ ਨਹੀ ਕਿਛੁ ਆਹਿ ਨ ਮੋਰਾ ॥

mai naahee kachh hau nahee kichh aahi na moraa ||

I am nothing, I have nothing, and nothing belongs to me.

ਅਉਸਰ ਲਜਾ ਰਾਖਿ ਲੇਹੁ ਸਧਨਾ ਜਨੁ ਤੋਰਾ ॥੪॥੧॥

ausar lajaa raakh lehu sadhanaa jan toraa ||4||1||

Now, protect my honor; Sadhana is Your humble servant. ||4||1||
