ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥

ਦੇਵਗੰਧਾਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

Dayv-Gandhaaree, Fifth Mehl:
ਅਪੁਨੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪਹਿ ਬਿਨਉ ਕਹਿਆ ॥
apune satigur pahi binau kahiaa ||
I offer my prayer to my True Guru.
ਭਏ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ਦਇਆਲ ਦੁਖ ਭੰਜਨ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਗਲ ਅੰਦੇਸਰਾ ਗਇਆ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
bhae kripaal daiaal dukh bha(n)jan meraa sagal a(n)desaraa gaiaa || rahaau ||
The Destroyer of distress has become kind and merciful, and all my anxiety is over. ||Pause||
ਹਮ ਪਾਪੀ ਪਾਖੰਡੀ ਲੋਭੀ ਹਮਰਾ ਗੁਨੁ ਅਵਗੁਨੁ ਸਭੁ ਸਹਿਆ ॥
ham paapee paakha(n)dee lobhee hamaraa gun avagun sabh sahiaa ||
I am a sinner, hypocritical and greedy, but still, He puts up with all of my merits and demerits.
ਕਰੁ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਧਾਰਿ ਸਾਜਿ ਨਿਵਾਜੇ ਮੁਏ ਦੁਸਟ ਜੋ ਖਇਆ ॥੧॥
kar masatak dhaar saaj nivaaje mue dusat jo khaiaa ||1||
Placing His hand on my forehead, He has exalted me. The wicked ones who wanted to destroy me have been killed. ||1||
ਪਰਉਪਕਾਰੀ ਸਰਬ ਸਧਾਰੀ ਸਫਲ ਦਰਸਨ ਸਹਜਇਆ ॥
paraupakaaree sarab sadhaaree saphal darasan sahajaiaa ||
He is generous and benevolent, the beautifier of all, the embodiment of peace; the Blessed Vision of His Darshan is so fruitful!
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਿਰਗੁਣ ਕਉ ਦਾਤਾ ਚਰਣ ਕਮਲ ਉਰ ਧਰਿਆ ॥੨॥੨੪॥
kahu naanak niragun kau daataa charan kamal ur dhariaa ||2||24||
Says Nanak, He is the Giver to the unworthy; I enshrine His Lotus Feet within my heart. ||2||24||

ਅਨਾਥ ਨਾਥ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਹਮਾਰੇ ॥
anaath naath prabh hamaare ||
My God is the Master of the masterless.
ਸਰਨਿ ਆਇਓ ਰਾਖਨਹਾਰੇ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
saran aaio raakhanahaare || rahaau ||
I have come to the Sanctuary of the Savior Lord. ||Pause||
ਸਰਬ ਪਾਖ ਰਾਖੁ ਮੁਰਾਰੇ ॥
sarab paakh raakh muraare ||
Protect me on all sides, O Lord;
ਆਗੈ ਪਾਛੈ ਅੰਤੀ ਵਾਰੇ ॥੧॥
aagai paachhai a(n)tee vaare ||1||
protect me in the future, in the past, and at the very last moment. ||1||
ਜਬ ਚਿਤਵਉ ਤਬ ਤੁਹਾਰੇ ॥
jab chitavau tab tuhaare ||
Whenever something comes to mind, it is You.
ਉਨ ਸਮੑਾਰਿ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨੁ ਸਧਾਰੇ ॥੨॥
un samhaar meraa man sadhaare ||2||
Contemplating Your virtues, my mind is sanctified. ||2||
ਸੁਨਿ ਗਾਵਉ ਗੁਰ ਬਚਨਾਰੇ ॥
sun gaavau gur bachanaare ||
I hear and sing the Hymns of the Guru's Word.
ਬਲਿ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਉ ਸਾਧ ਦਰਸਾਰੇ ॥੩॥
bal bal jaau saadh darasaare ||3||
I am a sacrifice, a sacrifice to the Blessed Vision of the Darshan of the Holy. ||3||
ਮਨ ਮਹਿ ਰਾਖਉ ਏਕ ਅਸਾਰੇ ॥
man mahi raakhau ek asaare ||
Within my mind, I have the Support of the One Lord alone.
ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮੇਰੇ ਕਰਨੈਹਾਰੇ ॥੪॥੨੫॥
naanak prabh mere karanaihaare ||4||25||
O Nanak, my God is the Creator of all. ||4||25||

ਪ੍ਰਭ ਇਹੈ ਮਨੋਰਥੁ ਮੇਰਾ ॥

God, this is my heart's desire:
ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਦਇਆਲ ਮੋਹਿ ਦੀਜੈ ਕਰਿ ਸੰਤਨ ਕਾ ਚੇਰਾ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
kripaa nidhaan daiaal mohi deejai kar sa(n)tan kaa cheraa || rahaau ||
O treasure of kindness, O Merciful Lord, please make me the slave of your Saints. ||Pause||
ਪ੍ਰਾਤਹਕਾਲ ਲਾਗਉ ਜਨ ਚਰਨੀ ਨਿਸ ਬਾਸੁਰ ਦਰਸੁ ਪਾਵਉ ॥
praatahakaal laagau jan charanee nis baasur daras paavau ||
In the early hours of the morning, I fall at the feet of Your humble servants; night and day, I obtain the Blessed Vision of their Darshan.
ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਅਰਪਿ ਕਰਉ ਜਨ ਸੇਵਾ ਰਸਨਾ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵਉ ॥੧॥
tan man arap karau jan sevaa rasanaa har gun gaavau ||1||
Dedicating my body and mind, I serve the humble servant of the Lord; with my tongue, I sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||1||
ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਸਿਮਰਉ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਸੰਤਸੰਗਿ ਨਿਤ ਰਹੀਐ ॥
saas saas simarau prabh apunaa sa(n)tasa(n)g nit raheeai ||
With each and every breath, I meditate in remembrance on my God; I live continually in the Society of the Saints.
ਏਕੁ ਅਧਾਰੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਨੁ ਮੋਰਾ ਅਨਦੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਇਹੁ ਲਹੀਐ ॥੨॥੨੬॥
ek adhaar naam dhan moraa anad naanak ihu laheeai ||2||26||
The Naam, the Name of the Lord, is my only support and wealth; O Nanak, from this, I obtain bliss. ||2||26||

ਮੀਤਾ ਐਸੇ ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਪਾਏ ॥
meetaa aise har jeeu paae ||
O friend, such is the Dear Lord whom I have obtained.
ਛੋਡਿ ਨ ਜਾਈ ਸਦ ਹੀ ਸੰਗੇ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਗਾਏ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
chhod na jaaee sad hee sa(n)ge anadin gur mil gaae ||1|| rahaau ||
He does not leave me, and He always keeps me company. Meeting the Guru, night and day, I sing His Praises. ||1||Pause||
ਮਿਲਿਓ ਮਨੋਹਰੁ ਸਰਬ ਸੁਖੈਨਾ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਨ ਕਤਹੂ ਜਾਏ ॥
milio manohar sarab sukhainaa tiaag na katahoo jaae ||
I met the Fascinating Lord, who has blessed me with all comforts; He does not leave me to go anywhere else.
ਅਨਿਕ ਅਨਿਕ ਭਾਤਿ ਬਹੁ ਪੇਖੇ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਰੋਮ ਨ ਸਮਸਰਿ ਲਾਏ ॥੧॥
anik anik bhaat bahu pekhe pri rom na samasar laae ||1||
I have seen the mortals of many and various types, but they are not equal to even a hair of my Beloved. ||1||
ਮੰਦਰਿ ਭਾਗੁ ਸੋਭ ਦੁਆਰੈ ਅਨਹਤ ਰੁਣੁ ਝੁਣੁ ਲਾਏ ॥
ma(n)dar bhaag sobh duaarai anahat run jhun laae ||
His palace is so beautiful! His gate is so wonderful! The celestial melody of the sound current resounds there.
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਦਾ ਰੰਗੁ ਮਾਣੇ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਥੀਤੇ ਸਦ ਥਾਏ ॥੨॥੧॥੨੭॥
kahu naanak sadaa ra(n)g maane grih pri theete sad thaae ||2||1||27||
Says Nanak, I enjoy eternal bliss; I have obtained a permanent place in the home of my Beloved. ||2||1||27||

ਦਰਸਨ ਨਾਮ ਕਉ ਮਨੁ ਆਛੈ ॥
darasan naam kau man aachhai ||
My mind longs for the Blessed Vision of the Lord's Darshan, and His Name.
ਭ੍ਰਮਿ ਆਇਓ ਹੈ ਸਗਲ ਥਾਨ ਰੇ ਆਹਿ ਪਰਿਓ ਸੰਤ ਪਾਛੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
bhram aaio hai sagal thaan re aahi pario sa(n)t paachhai ||1|| rahaau ||
I have wandered everywhere, and now I have come to follow the Saint. ||1||Pause||
ਕਿਸੁ ਹਉ ਸੇਵੀ ਕਿਸੁ ਆਰਾਧੀ ਜੋ ਦਿਸਟੈ ਸੋ ਗਾਛੈ ॥
kis hau sevee kis aaraadhee jo disatai so gaachhai ||
Whom should I serve? Whom should I worship in adoration? Whoever I see shall pass away.
