ਬਲਵੰਤਿ ਬਿਆਪਿ ਰਹੀ ਸਭ ਮਹੀ ॥
balava(n)t biaap rahee sabh mahee ||
The power of Maya is pervading everywhere.
ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਜਾਨਸਿ ਕੋਊ ਮਰਮਾ ਗੁਰ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ਲਹੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
avar na jaanas kooo maramaa gur kirapaa te lahee ||1|| rahaau ||
Her secret is known only by Guru's Grace - no one else knows it. ||1||Pause||
ਜੀਤਿ ਜੀਤਿ ਜੀਤੇ ਸਭਿ ਥਾਨਾ ਸਗਲ ਭਵਨ ਲਪਟਹੀ ॥
jeet jeet jeete sabh thaanaa sagal bhavan lapatahee ||
Conquering and conquering, she has conquered everywhere, and she clings to the whole world.
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਧ ਤੇ ਭਾਗੀ ਹੋਇ ਚੇਰੀ ਚਰਨ ਗਹੀ ॥੨॥੫॥੧੪॥
kahu naanak saadh te bhaagee hoi cheree charan gahee ||2||5||14||
Says Nanak, she surrenders to the Holy Saint; becoming his servant, she falls at his feet. ||2||5||14||

ਦੁਇ ਕਰ ਜੋੜਿ ਕਰੀ ਬੇਨੰਤੀ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਅਪਨਾ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥
dui kar joR karee bena(n)tee thaakur apanaa dhiaaiaa ||
With my palms pressed together, I offer my prayer, meditating on my Lord and Master.
ਹਾਥ ਦੇਇ ਰਾਖੇ ਪਰਮੇਸਰਿ ਸਗਲਾ ਦੁਰਤੁ ਮਿਟਾਇਆ ॥੧॥
haath dei raakhe paramesar sagalaa durat mitaaiaa ||1||
Giving me His hand, the Transcendent Lord has saved me, and erased all my sins. ||1||
ਠਾਕੁਰ ਹੋਏ ਆਪਿ ਦਇਆਲ ॥
thaakur hoe aap daiaal ||
The Lord and Master Himself has become merciful.
ਭਈ ਕਲਿਆਣ ਆਨੰਦ ਰੂਪ ਹੁਈ ਹੈ ਉਬਰੇ ਬਾਲ ਗੁਪਾਲ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
bhaee kaliaan aana(n)d roop huee hai ubare baal gupaal ||1|| rahaau ||
I have been emancipated, the embodiment of bliss; I am the child of the Lord of the Universe - He has carried me across. ||1||Pause||
ਮਿਲਿ ਵਰ ਨਾਰੀ ਮੰਗਲੁ ਗਾਇਆ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਕਾ ਜੈਕਾਰੁ ॥
mil var naaree ma(n)gal gaaiaa thaakur kaa jaikaar ||
Meeting her Husband, the soul-bride sings the songs of joy, and celebrates her Lord and Master.
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਸੁ ਗੁਰ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਜਿਨਿ ਸਭ ਕਾ ਕੀਆ ਉਧਾਰੁ ॥੨॥੬॥੧੫॥
kahu naanak tis gur balihaaree jin sabh kaa keeaa udhaar ||2||6||15||
Says Nanak, I am a sacrifice to the Guru, who has emancipated everyone. ||2||6||15||

ਮਾਤ ਪਿਤਾ ਭਾਈ ਸੁਤ ਬੰਧਪ ਤਿਨ ਕਾ ਬਲੁ ਹੈ ਥੋਰਾ ॥
maat pitaa bhaaee sut ba(n)dhap tin kaa bal hai thoraa ||
Mother, father, siblings, children and relatives - their power is insignificant.
ਅਨਿਕ ਰੰਗ ਮਾਇਆ ਕੇ ਪੇਖੇ ਕਿਛੁ ਸਾਥਿ ਨ ਚਾਲੈ ਭੋਰਾ ॥੧॥
anik ra(n)g maaiaa ke pekhe kichh saath na chaalai bhoraa ||1||
I have seen the many pleasures of Maya, but none goes with them in the end. ||1||
ਠਾਕੁਰ ਤੁਝ ਬਿਨੁ ਆਹਿ ਨ ਮੋਰਾ ॥
thaakur tujh bin aahi na moraa ||
O Lord Master, other than You, no one is mine.
ਮੋਹਿ ਅਨਾਥ ਨਿਰਗੁਨ ਗੁਣੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਮੈ ਆਹਿਓ ਤੁਮੑਰਾ ਧੋਰਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
mohi anaath niragun gun naahee mai aahio tumhraa dhoraa ||1|| rahaau ||
I am a worthless orphan, devoid of merit; I long for Your Support. ||1||Pause||
ਬਲਿ ਬਲਿ ਬਲਿ ਬਲਿ ਚਰਣ ਤੁਮੑਾਰੇ ਈਹਾ ਊਹਾ ਤੁਮੑਾਰਾ ਜੋਰਾ ॥
bal bal bal bal charan tumhaare eehaa oohaa tumhaaraa joraa ||
I am a sacrifice, a sacrifice, a sacrifice, a sacrifice to Your lotus feet; here and hereafter, Yours is the only power.
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਰਸੁ ਪਾਇਓ ਬਿਨਸਿਓ ਸਗਲ ਨਿਹੋਰਾ ॥੨॥੭॥੧੬॥
saadhasa(n)g naanak daras paaio binasio sagal nihoraa ||2||7||16||
In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, Nanak has obtained the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan; my obligations to all others are annulled. ||2||7||16||

Goojaree, Fifth Mehl:
ਆਲ ਜਾਲ ਭ੍ਰਮ ਮੋਹ ਤਜਾਵੈ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸੇਤੀ ਰੰਗੁ ਲਾਈ ॥
aal jaal bhram moh tajaavai prabh setee ra(n)g laaee ||
He rids us of entanglements, doubt and emotional attachment, and leads us to love God.
ਮਨ ਕਉ ਇਹ ਉਪਦੇਸੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਵੈ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਹਜਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਈ ॥੧॥
man kau ih upades driRaavai sahaj sahaj gun gaaee ||1||
He implants this instruction in our minds, for us to sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord, in peace and poise. ||1||
ਸਾਜਨ ਐਸੋ ਸੰਤੁ ਸਹਾਈ ॥
saajan aiso sa(n)t sahaaee ||
O friend, the Saintly Guru is such a helper.
ਜਿਸੁ ਭੇਟੇ ਤੂਟਹਿ ਮਾਇਆ ਬੰਧ ਬਿਸਰਿ ਨ ਕਬਹੂੰ ਜਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jis bhete tootahi maaiaa ba(n)dh bisar na kabahoo(n) jaaee ||1|| rahaau ||
Meeting Him, the bonds of Maya are released, and one never forgets the Lord. ||1||Pause||
ਕਰਤ ਕਰਤ ਅਨਿਕ ਬਹੁ ਭਾਤੀ ਨੀਕੀ ਇਹ ਠਹਰਾਈ ॥
karat karat anik bahu bhaatee neekee ih thaharaaee ||
Practicing, practicing various actions in so many ways, I came to recognize this as the best way.
ਮਿਲਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਹਰਿ ਜਸੁ ਗਾਵੈ ਨਾਨਕ ਭਵਜਲੁ ਪਾਰਿ ਪਰਾਈ ॥੨॥੮॥੧੭॥
mil saadhoo har jas gaavai naanak bhavajal paar paraaee ||2||8||17||
Joining the Company of the Holy, Nanak sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord, and crosses over the terrifying world-ocean. ||2||8||17||

Goojaree, Fifth Mehl:
ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਥਾਪਿ ਉਥਾਪਨਹਾਰਾ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਜਾਇ ਨ ਕਰੀ ॥
khin mahi thaap uthaapanahaaraa keemat jaai na karee ||
In an instant, He establishes and disestablishes; His value cannot be described.
ਰਾਜਾ ਰੰਕੁ ਕਰੈ ਖਿਨ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਨੀਚਹ ਜੋਤਿ ਧਰੀ ॥੧॥
raajaa ra(n)k karai khin bheetar neechah jot dharee ||1||
He turns the king into a beggar in an instant, and He infuses splendor into the lowly. ||1||
ਧਿਆਈਐ ਅਪਨੋ ਸਦਾ ਹਰੀ ॥
dhiaaeeai apano sadaa haree ||
Meditate forever on Your Lord.
ਸੋਚ ਅੰਦੇਸਾ ਤਾ ਕਾ ਕਹਾ ਕਰੀਐ ਜਾ ਮਹਿ ਏਕ ਘਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
soch a(n)desaa taa kaa kahaa kareeai jaa mahi ek gharee ||1|| rahaau ||
Why should I feel worry or anxiety, when I am here for only a short time. ||1||Pause||
ਤੁਮੑਰੀ ਟੇਕ ਪੂਰੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਮਨ ਸਰਨਿ ਤੁਮੑਾਰੈ ਪਰੀ ॥
tumhree tek poore mere satigur man saran tumhaarai paree ||
You are my support, O my Perfect True Guru; my mind has taken to the protection of Your Sanctuary.
ਅਚੇਤ ਇਆਨੇ ਬਾਰਿਕ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਮ ਤੁਮ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਧਾਰਿ ਕਰੀ ॥੨॥੯॥੧੮॥
achet iaane baarik naanak ham tum raakhahu dhaar karee ||2||9||18||
Nanak, I am a foolish and ignorant child; reach out to me with Your hand, Lord, and save me. ||2||9||18||

ਤੂੰ ਦਾਤਾ ਜੀਆ ਸਭਨਾ ਕਾ ਬਸਹੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਮਾਹੀ ॥
too(n) daataa jeeaa sabhanaa kaa basahu mere man maahee ||
You are the Giver of all beings; please, come to dwell within my mind.
ਚਰਣ ਕਮਲ ਰਿਦ ਮਾਹਿ ਸਮਾਏ ਤਹ ਭਰਮੁ ਅੰਧੇਰਾ ਨਾਹੀ ॥੧॥
charan kamal rid maahi samaae tah bharam a(n)dheraa naahee ||1||
That heart, within which Your lotus feet are enshrined, suffers no darkness or doubt. ||1||
ਠਾਕੁਰ ਜਾ ਸਿਮਰਾ ਤੂੰ ਤਾਹੀ ॥
thaakur jaa simaraa too(n) taahee ||
O Lord Master, wherever I remember You, there I find You.
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਸਰਬ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਉ ਸਦਾ ਸਲਾਹੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
kar kirapaa sarab pratipaalak prabh kau sadaa salaahee ||1|| rahaau ||
Show Mercy to me, O God, Cherisher of all, that I may sing Your Praises forever. ||1||Pause||
ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਮਾਰਉ ਤੁਮ ਹੀ ਕਉ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਆਹੀ ॥
saas saas teraa naam samaarau tum hee kau prabh aahee ||
With each and every breath, I contemplate Your Name; O God, I long for You alone.
ਨਾਨਕ ਟੇਕ ਭਈ ਕਰਤੇ ਕੀ ਹੋਰ ਆਸ ਬਿਡਾਣੀ ਲਾਹੀ ॥੨॥੧੦॥੧੯॥
naanak tek bhaee karate kee hor aas bidaanee laahee ||2||10||19||
O Nanak, my support is the Creator Lord; I have renounced all other hopes. ||2||10||19||
