ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਰੂਪ ਚੇਰੀ ਕੀ ਨਿਆਈ ਸੋਭ ਨਹੀ ਬਿਨੁ ਭਰਤਾਰੇ ॥੧॥
isatree roop cheree kee niaaee sobh nahee bin bharataare ||1||
I am Your beautiful bride, Your servant and slave. I have no nobility without my Husband Lord. ||1||
ਬਿਨਉ ਸੁਨਿਓ ਜਬ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਮੇਰੈ ਬੇਗਿ ਆਇਓ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੇ ॥
binau sunio jab thaakur merai beg aaio kirapaa dhaare ||
When my Lord and Master listened to my prayer, He hurried to shower me with His Mercy.
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਮੇਰੋ ਬਨਿਓ ਸੁਹਾਗੋ ਪਤਿ ਸੋਭਾ ਭਲੇ ਅਚਾਰੇ ॥੨॥੩॥੭॥
kahu naanak mero banio suhaago pat sobhaa bhale achaare ||2||3||7||
Says Nanak, I have become just like my Husband Lord; I am blessed with honor, nobility and the lifestyle of goodness. ||2||3||7||

ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਸਾਚਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇ ॥

Meditate on the True Name of your Beloved.
ਦੂਖ ਦਰਦ ਬਿਨਸੈ ਭਵ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਰਿਦੈ ਬਸਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
dookh darad binasai bhav saagar gur kee moorat ridai basaai ||1|| rahaau ||
The pains and sorrows of the terrifying world-ocean are dispelled, by enshrining the Image of the Guru within your heart. ||1||Pause||
ਦੁਸਮਨ ਹਤੇ ਦੋਖੀ ਸਭਿ ਵਿਆਪੇ ਹਰਿ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਆਇਆ ॥
dusaman hate dokhee sabh viaape har saranaaee aaiaa ||
Your enemies shall be destroyed, and all the evil-doers shall perish, when you come to the Sanctuary of the Lord.
ਰਾਖਨਹਾਰੈ ਹਾਥ ਦੇ ਰਾਖਿਓ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੧॥
raakhanahaarai haath de raakhio naam padaarath paaiaa ||1||
The Savior Lord has given me His Hand and saved me; I have obtained the wealth of the Naam. ||1||
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਿਲਵਿਖ ਸਭਿ ਕਾਟੇ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਮਨਿ ਦੀਆ ॥
kar kirapaa kilavikh sabh kaate naam niramal man deeaa ||
Granting His Grace, He has eradicated all my sins; He has placed the Immaculate Naam within my mind.
ਗੁਣ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਮਨਿ ਵਸਿਆ ਬਾਹੁੜਿ ਦੂਖ ਨ ਥੀਆ ॥੨॥੪॥੮॥
gun nidhaan naanak man vasiaa baahuR dookh na theeaa ||2||4||8||
O Nanak, the Treasure of Virtue fills my mind; I shall never again suffer in pain. ||2||4||8||

ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥

My Beloved God is the Lover of my breath of life.
ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਭਗਤਿ ਅਪਨੋ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੀਜੈ ਦਇਆਲ ਅਨੁਗ੍ਰਹੁ ਧਾਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
prem bhagat apano naam deejai daiaal anugrahu dhaare ||1|| rahaau ||
Please bless me with the loving devotional worship of the Naam, O Kind and Compassionate Lord. ||1||Pause||
ਸਿਮਰਉ ਚਰਨ ਤੁਹਾਰੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਰਿਦੈ ਤੁਹਾਰੀ ਆਸਾ ॥
simarau charan tuhaare preetam ridai tuhaaree aasaa ||
I meditate in remembrance on Your Feet, O my Beloved; my heart is filled with hope.
ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਪਹਿ ਕਰਉ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਮਨਿ ਦਰਸਨ ਕੀ ਪਿਆਸਾ ॥੧॥
sa(n)t janaa pahi karau benatee man darasan kee piaasaa ||1||
I offer my prayer to the humble Saints; my mind thirsts for the Blssed Vision of the Lord's Darshan. ||1||
ਬਿਛੁਰਤ ਮਰਨੁ ਜੀਵਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਮਿਲਤੇ ਜਨ ਕਉ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਦੀਜੈ ॥
bichhurat maran jeevan har milate jan kau darasan deejai ||
Separation is death, and Union with the Lord is life. Please bless Your humble servant with Your Darshan.
ਨਾਮ ਅਧਾਰੁ ਜੀਵਨ ਧਨੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮੇਰੇ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕੀਜੈ ॥੨॥੫॥੯॥
naam adhaar jeevan dhan naanak prabh mere kirapaa keejai ||2||5||9||
O my God, please be Merciful, and bless Nanak with the support, the life and wealth of the Naam. ||2||5||9||

ਅਬ ਅਪਨੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਸਿਉ ਬਨਿ ਆਈ ॥
ab apane preetam siu ban aaee ||
Now, I have become just like my Beloved.
ਰਾਜਾ ਰਾਮੁ ਰਮਤ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਓ ਬਰਸੁ ਮੇਘ ਸੁਖਦਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
raajaa raam ramat sukh paaio baras megh sukhadaaee ||1|| rahaau ||
Dwelling on my Sovereign Lord King, I have found peace. Rain down, O peace-giving cloud. ||1||Pause||
ਇਕੁ ਪਲੁ ਬਿਸਰਤ ਨਹੀ ਸੁਖ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਵੈ ਨਿਧਿ ਪਾਈ ॥
ik pal bisarat nahee sukh saagar naam navai nidh paaee ||
I cannot forget Him, even for an instant; He is the Ocean of peace. Through the Naam, the Name of the Lord, I have obtained the nine treasures.
ਉਦੌਤੁ ਭਇਓ ਪੂਰਨ ਭਾਵੀ ਕੋ ਭੇਟੇ ਸੰਤ ਸਹਾਈ ॥੧॥
udaut bhaio pooran bhaavee ko bhete sa(n)t sahaaee ||1||
My perfect destiny has been activated, meeting with the Saints, my help and support. ||1||
ਸੁਖ ਉਪਜੇ ਦੁਖ ਸਗਲ ਬਿਨਾਸੇ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਈ ॥
sukh upaje dukh sagal binaase paarabraham liv laaee ||
Peace has welled up, and all pain has been dispelled, lovingly attuned to the Supreme Lord God.
ਤਰਿਓ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ਕਠਿਨ ਭੈ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਚਰਨ ਧਿਆਈ ॥੨॥੬॥੧੦॥
tario sa(n)saar kathin bhai saagar har naanak charan dhiaaee ||2||6||10||
The arduous and terrifying world-ocean is crossed over, O Nanak, by meditating on the Feet of the Lord. ||2||6||10||

ਘਨਿਹਰ ਬਰਸਿ ਸਗਲ ਜਗੁ ਛਾਇਆ ॥
ghanihar baras sagal jag chhaaiaa ||
The clouds have rained down all over the world.
ਭਏ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮੇਰੇ ਅਨਦ ਮੰਗਲ ਸੁਖ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
bhae kripaal preetam prabh mere anad ma(n)gal sukh paaiaa ||1|| rahaau ||
My Beloved Lord God has become merciful to me; I am blessed with ecstasy, bliss and peace. ||1||Pause||
ਮਿਟੇ ਕਲੇਸ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨ ਸਭ ਬੂਝੀ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਮਨਿ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥
mite kales trisan sabh boojhee paarabraham man dhiaaiaa ||
My sorrows are erased, and all my thirsts are quenched, meditating on the Supreme Lord God.
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਨਿਵਾਰੇ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਨ ਕਤਹੂ ਧਾਇਆ ॥੧॥
saadhasa(n)g janam maran nivaare bahur na katahoo dhaaiaa ||1||
In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, death and birth come to an end, and the mortal does not wander anywhere, ever again. ||1||
ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਨਾਮਿ ਨਿਰੰਜਨਿ ਰਾਤਉ ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇਆ ॥
man tan naam nira(n)jan raatau charan kamal liv laaiaa ||
My mind and body are imbued with the Immaculate Naam, the Name of the Lord; I am lovingly attuned to His Lotus Feet.
ਅੰਗੀਕਾਰੁ ਕੀਓ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਅਪਨੈ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਸਰਣਾਇਆ ॥੨॥੭॥੧੧॥
a(n)geekaar keeo prabh apanai naanak daas saranaaiaa ||2||7||11||
God has made Nanak His Own; slave Nanak seeks His Sanctuary. ||2||7||11||

ਬਿਛੁਰਤ ਕਿਉ ਜੀਵੇ ਓਇ ਜੀਵਨ ॥
bichhurat kiu jeeve oi jeevan ||
Separated from the Lord, how can any living being live?
ਚਿਤਹਿ ਉਲਾਸ ਆਸ ਮਿਲਬੇ ਕੀ ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਰਸ ਪੀਵਨ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
chitahi ulaas aas milabe kee charan kamal ras peevan ||1|| rahaau ||
My consciousness is filled with yearning and hope to meet my Lord, and drink in the sublime essence of His Lotus Feet. ||1||Pause||
ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਪਿਆਸ ਤੁਮਾਰੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਤਿਨ ਕਉ ਅੰਤਰੁ ਨਾਹੀ ॥
jin kau piaas tumaaree preetam tin kau a(n)tar naahee ||
Those who are thirsty for You, O my Beloved, are not separated from You.
ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਬਿਸਰੈ ਮੇਰੋ ਰਾਮੁ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਸੇ ਮੂਏ ਮਰਿ ਜਾਂਹੀਂ ॥੧॥
jin kau bisarai mero raam piaaraa se mooe mar jaa(n)hee(n) ||1||
Those who forget my Beloved Lord are dead and dying. ||1||
