ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਮੈ ਅਤੁਲ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣ ਭੈ ਲਾਥੇ ॥੨॥੨੦॥੪੩॥
kahu naanak mai atul sukh paaiaa janam maran bhai laathe ||2||20||43||
Says Nanak, I have found immeasurable peace; my fear of birth and death is gone. ||2||20||43||

Saarang, Fifth Mehl:
ਰੇ ਮੂੜੑੇ ਆਨ ਕਾਹੇ ਕਤ ਜਾਈ ॥
re mooRhe aan kaahe kat jaaee ||
You fool: why are you going somewhere else?
ਸੰਗਿ ਮਨੋਹਰੁ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਹੈ ਰੇ ਭੂਲਿ ਭੂਲਿ ਬਿਖੁ ਖਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
sa(n)g manohar a(n)mrit hai re bhool bhool bikh khaaee ||1|| rahaau ||
The Enticing Ambrosial Amrit is with you, but you are deluded, totally deluded, and you eat poison. ||1||Pause||
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਚਤੁਰ ਅਨੂਪ ਬਿਧਾਤੇ ਤਿਸ ਸਿਉ ਰੁਚ ਨਹੀ ਰਾਈ ॥
prabh su(n)dar chatur anoop bidhaate tis siu ruch nahee raaee ||
God is Beautiful, Wise and Incomparable; He is the Creator, the Architect of Destiny, but you have no love for Him.
ਮੋਹਨਿ ਸਿਉ ਬਾਵਰ ਮਨੁ ਮੋਹਿਓ ਝੂਠਿ ਠਗਉਰੀ ਪਾਈ ॥੧॥
mohan siu baavar man mohio jhooth thagauree paaee ||1||
The mad-man's mind is enticed by Maya, the enticer; he has taken the intoxicating drug of falsehood. ||1||
ਭਇਓ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲੁ ਦੁਖ ਹਰਤਾ ਸੰਤਨ ਸਿਉ ਬਨਿ ਆਈ ॥
bhaio daiaal kripaal dukh harataa sa(n)tan siu ban aaee ||
The Destroyer of pain has become kind and compassionate to me, and I am in tune with the Saints.
ਸਗਲ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਘਰੈ ਮਹਿ ਪਾਏ ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਜੋਤਿ ਸਮਾਈ ॥੨॥੨੧॥੪੪॥
sagal nidhaan gharai mahi paae kahu naanak jot samaaee ||2||21||44||
I have obtained all treasures within the home of my own heart; says Nanak, my light has merged into the Light. ||2||21||44||

Saarang, Fifth Mehl:
ਓਅੰ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਚੀਤਿ ਪਹਿਲਰੀਆ ॥
oa(n) pri preet cheet pahilareeaa ||
My consciousness has loved my Beloved God, since the very beginning of time.
ਜੋ ਤਉ ਬਚਨੁ ਦੀਓ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਤਉ ਮੈ ਸਾਜ ਸੀਗਰੀਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jo tau bachan deeo mere satigur tau mai saaj seegareeaa ||1|| rahaau ||
When You blessed me with the Teachings, O my True Guru, I was embellished with beauty. ||1||Pause||
ਹਮ ਭੂਲਹ ਤੁਮ ਸਦਾ ਅਭੂਲਾ ਹਮ ਪਤਿਤ ਤੁਮ ਪਤਿਤ ਉਧਰੀਆ ॥
ham bhoolah tum sadaa abhoolaa ham patit tum patit udhareeaa ||
I am mistaken; You are never mistaken. I am a sinner; You are the Saving Grace of sinners.
ਹਮ ਨੀਚ ਬਿਰਖ ਤੁਮ ਮੈਲਾਗਰ ਲਾਜ ਸੰਗਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਬਸਰੀਆ ॥੧॥
ham neech birakh tum mailaagar laaj sa(n)g sa(n)g basareeaa ||1||
I am a lowly thorn-tree, and You are the sandalwood tree. Please preserve my honor by staying with me; please stay with me. ||1||
ਤੁਮ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਧੀਰ ਉਪਕਾਰੀ ਹਮ ਕਿਆ ਬਪੁਰੇ ਜੰਤਰੀਆ ॥
tum ga(n)bheer dheer upakaaree ham kiaa bapure ja(n)tareeaa ||
You are deep and profound, calm and benevolent. What am I? Just a poor helpless being.
ਗੁਰ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਮੇਲਿਓ ਤਉ ਮੇਰੀ ਸੂਖਿ ਸੇਜਰੀਆ ॥੨॥੨੨॥੪੫॥
gur kripaal naanak har melio tau meree sookh sejareeaa ||2||22||45||
The Merciful Guru Nanak has united me with the Lord. I lay on His Bed of Peace. ||2||22||45||

Saarang, Fifth Mehl:
ਮਨ ਓਇ ਦਿਨਸ ਧੰਨਿ ਪਰਵਾਨਾਂ ॥
man oi dinas dha(n)n paravaanaa(n) ||
O my mind, blessed and approved is that day,
ਸਫਲ ਤੇ ਘਰੀ ਸੰਜੋਗ ਸੁਹਾਵੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸੰਗਿ ਗਿਆਨਾਂ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
saphal te gharee sa(n)jog suhaave satigur sa(n)g giaanaa(n) ||1|| rahaau ||
and fruitful is that hour, and lucky is that moment, when the True Guru blesses me with spirtual wisdom. ||1||Pause||
ਧੰਨਿ ਸੁਭਾਗ ਧੰਨਿ ਸੋਹਾਗਾ ਧੰਨਿ ਦੇਤ ਜਿਨਿ ਮਾਨਾਂ ॥
dha(n)n subhaag dha(n)n sohaagaa dha(n)n det jin maanaa(n) ||
Blessed is my good destiny, and blessed is my Husband Lord. Blessed are those upon whom honor is bestowed.
ਇਹੁ ਤਨੁ ਤੁਮੑਰਾ ਸਭੁ ਗ੍ਰਿਹੁ ਧਨੁ ਤੁਮਰਾ ਹੀਂਉ ਕੀਓ ਕੁਰਬਾਨਾਂ ॥੧॥
ihu tan tumhraa sabh grihu dhan tumaraa hee(n)u keeo kurabaanaa(n) ||1||
This body is Yours, all my home and wealth are Yours; I offer my heart as a sacrifice to You. ||1||
ਕੋਟਿ ਲਾਖ ਰਾਜ ਸੁਖ ਪਾਏ ਇਕ ਨਿਮਖ ਪੇਖਿ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਾਨਾਂ ॥
kot laakh raaj sukh paae ik nimakh pekh drisataanaa(n) ||
I obtain tens of thousands and millions of regal pleasures, if I gaze upon Your Blessed Vision, even for an instant.
ਜਉ ਕਹਹੁ ਮੁਖਹੁ ਸੇਵਕ ਇਹ ਬੈਸੀਐ ਸੁਖ ਨਾਨਕ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਜਾਨਾਂ ॥੨॥੨੩॥੪੬॥
jau kahahu mukhahu sevak ih baiseeai sukh naanak a(n)t na jaanaa(n) ||2||23||46||
When You, O God, say, "My servant, stay here with me", Nanak knows unlimited peace. ||2||23||46||

Saarang, Fifth Mehl:
ਅਬ ਮੋਰੋ ਸਹਸਾ ਦੂਖੁ ਗਇਆ ॥
ab moro sahasaa dookh gaiaa ||
Now I am rid of my skepticism and sorrow.
ਅਉਰ ਉਪਾਵ ਸਗਲ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਛੋਡੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸਰਣਿ ਪਇਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
aur upaav sagal tiaag chhode satigur saran paiaa ||1|| rahaau ||
I have abandoned and forsaken all other efforts, and come to the Sanctuary of the True Guru. ||1||Pause||
ਸਰਬ ਸਿਧਿ ਕਾਰਜ ਸਭਿ ਸਵਰੇ ਅਹੰ ਰੋਗ ਸਗਲ ਹੀ ਖਇਆ ॥
sarab sidh kaaraj sabh savare aha(n) rog sagal hee khaiaa ||
I have attained total perfection, and all my works are perfectly completed; the illness of egotism has been totally eradicated.
ਕੋਟਿ ਪਰਾਧ ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਖਉ ਭਈ ਹੈ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕਹਿਆ ॥੧॥
kot paraadh khin mahi khau bhaee hai gur mil har har kahiaa ||1||
Millions of sins are destroyed in an instant; meeting with the Guru, I chant the Name of the Lord, Har, Har. ||1||
ਪੰਚ ਦਾਸ ਗੁਰਿ ਵਸਗਤਿ ਕੀਨੇ ਮਨ ਨਿਹਚਲ ਨਿਰਭਇਆ ॥
pa(n)ch daas gur vasagat keene man nihachal nirabhaiaa ||
Subduing the five thieves, he Guru has made them my slaves; my mind has become stable and steady and fearless.
ਆਇ ਨ ਜਾਵੈ ਨ ਕਤ ਹੀ ਡੋਲੈ ਥਿਰੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਰਾਜਇਆ ॥੨॥੨੪॥੪੭॥
aai na jaavai na kat hee dolai thir naanak raajaiaa ||2||24||47||
It does not come or go in reincarnation; it does not waver or wander anywhere. O Nanak, my empire is eternal. ||2||24||47||

Saarang, Fifth Mehl:
ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮੇਰੋ ਇਤ ਉਤ ਸਦਾ ਸਹਾਈ ॥
prabh mero it ut sadaa sahaaee ||
Here and hereafter, God is forever my Help and Support.
ਮਨਮੋਹਨੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਜੀਅ ਕੋ ਪਿਆਰੋ ਕਵਨ ਕਹਾ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
manamohan mere jee ko piaaro kavan kahaa gun gaaee ||1|| rahaau ||
He is the Enticer of my mind, the Beloved of my soul. What Glorious Praises of His can I sing and chant? ||1||Pause||
ਖੇਲਿ ਖਿਲਾਇ ਲਾਡ ਲਾਡਾਵੈ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਅਨਦਾਈ ॥
khel khilaai laad laadaavai sadaa sadaa anadaaee ||
He plays with me, He fondles and caresses me. Forever and ever, He blesses me with bliss.
ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲੈ ਬਾਰਿਕ ਕੀ ਨਿਆਈ ਜੈਸੇ ਮਾਤ ਪਿਤਾਈ ॥੧॥
pratipaalai baarik kee niaaee jaise maat pitaaee ||1||
He cherishes me, like the father and the mother love their child. ||1||
ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਨਿਮਖ ਨਹੀ ਰਹਿ ਸਕੀਐ ਬਿਸਰਿ ਨ ਕਬਹੂ ਜਾਈ ॥
tis bin nimakh nahee rahi sakeeai bisar na kabahoo jaaee ||
I cannot survive without Him, even for an instant; I shall never forget Him.
