ਸਾਰਗ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ਦੁਪਦੇ ਘਰੁ ੪ ॥

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥

One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:

ਮੋਹਨ ਘਰਿ ਆਵਹੁ ਕਰਉ ਜੋਦਰੀਆ ॥

mohan ghar aavahu karau jodareeaa ||

O my Fascinating Lord, I pray to You: come into my house.

ਮਾਨੁ ਕਰਉ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੈ ਬੋਲਉ ਭੂਲ ਚੂਕ ਤੇਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਚਿਰੀਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

maan karau abhimaanai bolau bhool chook teree pri chireeaa ||1|| rahaau ||

I act in pride, and speak in pride. I am mistaken and wrong, but I am still Your hand-maiden, O my Beloved. ||1||Pause||

ਨਿਕਟਿ ਸੁਨਉ ਅਰੁ ਪੇਖਉ ਨਾਹੀ ਭਰਮਿ ਭਰਮਿ ਦੁਖ ਭਰੀਆ ॥

nikat sunau ar pekhau naahee bharam bharam dukh bhareeaa ||

I hear that You are near, but I cannot see You. I wander in suffering, deluded by doubt.

ਹੋਇ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ਗੁਰ ਲਾਹਿ ਪਾਰਦੋ ਮਿਲਉ ਲਾਲ ਮਨੁ ਹਰੀਆ ॥੧॥

hoi kripaal gur laahi paarado milau laal man hareeaa ||1||

The Guru has become merciful to me; He has removed the veils. Meeting with my Beloved, my mind blossoms forth in abundance. ||1||

ਏਕ ਨਿਮਖ ਜੇ ਬਿਸਰੈ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਜਾਨਉ ਕੋਟਿ ਦਿਨਸ ਲਖ ਬਰੀਆ ॥

ek nimakh je bisarai suaamee jaanau kot dinas lakh bareeaa ||

If I were to forget my Lord and Master, even for an instant, it would be like millions of days, tens of thousands of years.

ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਕੀ ਭੀਰ ਜਉ ਪਾਈ ਤਉ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਰੀਆ ॥੨॥੧॥੨੪॥

saadhasa(n)gat kee bheer jau paaee tau naanak har sa(n)g mireeaa ||2||1||24||

When I joined the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, O Nanak, I met my Lord. ||2||1||24||

Saarang, Fifth Mehl:

ਅਬ ਕਿਆ ਸੋਚਉ ਸੋਚ ਬਿਸਾਰੀ ॥

ab kiaa sochau soch bisaaree ||

Now what should I think? I have given up thinking.

ਕਰਣਾ ਸਾ ਸੋਈ ਕਰਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਦੇਹਿ ਨਾਉ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

karanaa saa soee kar rahiaa dehi naau balihaaree ||1|| rahaau ||

You do whatever You wish to do. Please bless me with Your Name - I am a sacrifice to You. ||1||Pause||

ਚਹੁ ਦਿਸ ਫੂਲਿ ਰਹੀ ਬਿਖਿਆ ਬਿਖੁ ਗੁਰ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੁ ਮੂਖਿ ਗਰੁੜਾਰੀ ॥

chahu dis phool rahee bikhiaa bikh gur ma(n)tr mookh garuRaaree ||

The poison of corruption is flowering forth in the four directions; I have taken the GurMantra as my antidote.

ਹਾਥ ਦੇਇ ਰਾਖਿਓ ਕਰਿ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਜਿਉ ਜਲ ਕਮਲਾ ਅਲਿਪਾਰੀ ॥੧॥

haath dei raakhio kar apunaa jiu jal kamalaa alipaaree ||1||

Giving me His Hand, He has saved me as His Own; like the lotus in the water, I remain unattached. ||1||

ਹਉ ਨਾਹੀ ਕਿਛੁ ਮੈ ਕਿਆ ਹੋਸਾ ਸਭ ਤੁਮ ਹੀ ਕਲ ਧਾਰੀ ॥

hau naahee kichh mai kiaa hosaa sabh tum hee kal dhaaree ||

I am nothing. What am I? You hold all in Your Power.

ਨਾਨਕ ਭਾਗਿ ਪਰਿਓ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਛੈ ਰਾਖੁ ਸੰਤ ਸਦਕਾਰੀ ॥੨॥੨॥੨੫॥

naanak bhaag pario har paachhai raakh sa(n)t sadakaaree ||2||2||25||

Nanak has run to Your Sanctuary, Lord; please save him, for the sake of Your Saints. ||2||2||25||

Saarang, Fifth Mehl:

ਅਬ ਮੋਹਿ ਸਰਬ ਉਪਾਵ ਬਿਰਕਾਤੇ ॥

ab mohi sarab upaav birakaate ||

Now I have abandoned all efforts and devices.

ਕਰਣ ਕਾਰਣ ਸਮਰਥ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹਰਿ ਏਕਸੁ ਤੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਗਾਤੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

karan kaaran samarath suaamee har ekas te meree gaate ||1|| rahaau ||

My Lord and Master is the All-powerful Creator, the Cause of causes, my only Saving Grace. ||1||Pause||

ਦੇਖੇ ਨਾਨਾ ਰੂਪ ਬਹੁ ਰੰਗਾ ਅਨ ਨਾਹੀ ਤੁਮ ਭਾਂਤੇ ॥

dekhe naanaa roop bahu ra(n)gaa an naahee tum bhaa(n)te ||

I have seen numerous forms of incomparable beauty, but nothing is like You.

ਦੇਂਹਿ ਅਧਾਰੁ ਸਰਬ ਕਉ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਜੀਅ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਸੁਖਦਾਤੇ ॥੧॥

de(n)hi adhaar sarab kau thaakur jee praan sukhadaate ||1||

You give Your Support to all, O my Lord and Master; You are the Giver of peace, of the soul and the breath of life. ||1||

ਭ੍ਰਮਤੌ ਭ੍ਰਮਤੌ ਹਾਰਿ ਜਉ ਪਰਿਓ ਤਉ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਚਰਨ ਪਰਾਤੇ ॥

bhramatau bhramatau haar jau pario tau gur mil charan paraate ||

Wandering, wandering, I grew so tired; meeting the Guru, I fell at His Feet.

ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਮੈ ਸਰਬ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਇਹ ਸੂਖਿ ਬਿਹਾਨੀ ਰਾਤੇ ॥੨॥੩॥੨੬॥

kahu naanak mai sarab sukh paaiaa ih sookh bihaanee raate ||2||3||26||

Says Nanak, I have found total peace; this life-night of mine passes in peace. ||2||3||26||

Saarang, Fifth Mehl:

ਅਬ ਮੋਹਿ ਲਬਧਿਓ ਹੈ ਹਰਿ ਟੇਕਾ ॥

ab mohi labadhio hai har tekaa ||

Now I have found the Support of my Lord.

ਗੁਰ ਦਇਆਲ ਭਏ ਸੁਖਦਾਈ ਅੰਧੁਲੈ ਮਾਣਿਕੁ ਦੇਖਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

gur daiaal bhae sukhadaaee a(n)dhulai maanik dekhaa ||1|| rahaau ||

The Guru, the Giver of peace, has become merciful to me. I was blind - I see the jewel of the Lord. ||1||Pause||

ਕਾਟੇ ਅਗਿਆਨ ਤਿਮਰ ਨਿਰਮਲੀਆ ਬੁਧਿ ਬਿਗਾਸ ਬਿਬੇਕਾ ॥

kaate agiaan timar niramaleeaa budh bigaas bibekaa ||

I have cut away the darkness of ignorance and become immaculate; my discriminationg intellect has blossomed forth.

ਜਿਉ ਜਲ ਤਰੰਗ ਫੇਨੁ ਜਲ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ ਸੇਵਕ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਭਏ ਏਕਾ ॥੧॥

jiu jal tara(n)g phen jal hoee hai sevak thaakur bhae ekaa ||1||

As the waves of water and the foam become water again, the Lord and His servant become One. ||1||

ਜਹ ਤੇ ਉਠਿਓ ਤਹ ਹੀ ਆਇਓ ਸਭ ਹੀ ਏਕੈ ਏਕਾ ॥

jah te uthio tah hee aaio sabh hee ekai ekaa ||

He is taken in again, into what from which he came; all is one in the One Lord.

ਨਾਨਕ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਆਇਓ ਸ੍ਰਬ ਠਾਈ ਪ੍ਰਾਣਪਤੀ ਹਰਿ ਸਮਕਾ ॥੨॥੪॥੨੭॥

naanak drisat aaio srab thaaee praanapatee har samakaa ||2||4||27||

O Nanak, I have come to see the Master of the breath of life, all-pervading everywhere. ||2||4||27||

Saarang, Fifth Mehl:

ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨੁ ਏਕੈ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਮਾਂਗੈ ॥

meraa man ekai hee pri maa(n)gai ||

My mind longs for the One Beloved Lord.

ਪੇਖਿ ਆਇਓ ਸਰਬ ਥਾਨ ਦੇਸ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਰੋਮ ਨ ਸਮਸਰਿ ਲਾਗੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

pekh aaio sarab thaan des pri rom na samasar laagai ||1|| rahaau ||

I have looked everywhere in every country, but nothing equals even a hair of my Beloved. ||1||Pause||

ਮੈ ਨੀਰੇ ਅਨਿਕ ਭੋਜਨ ਬਹੁ ਬਿੰਜਨ ਤਿਨ ਸਿਉ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਨ ਕਰੈ ਰੁਚਾਂਗੈ ॥

mai neere anik bhojan bahu bi(n)jan tin siu drisat na karai ruchaa(n)gai ||

All sorts of delicacies and dainties are placed before me, but I do not even want to look at them.

ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਚਾਹੈ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਮੁਖਿ ਟੇਰੈ ਜਿਉ ਅਲਿ ਕਮਲਾ ਲੋਭਾਂਗੈ ॥੧॥

har ras chaahai pri pri mukh terai jiu al kamalaa lobhaa(n)gai ||1||

I long for the sublime essence of the Lord, calling, "Pri-o! Pri-o! - Beloved! Beloved!", like the Bumble bee longing for the lotus flower. ||1||
