ਸੁਰ ਤੇਤੀਸਉ ਜੇਵਹਿ ਪਾਕ ॥

sur teteesau jevahi paak ||

Three hundred thirty million gods eat the Lord's offerings.

ਨਵ ਗ੍ਰਹ ਕੋਟਿ ਠਾਢੇ ਦਰਬਾਰ ॥

nav grah kot thaadhe darabaar ||

The nine stars, a million times over, stand at His Door.

ਧਰਮ ਕੋਟਿ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਹਾਰ ॥੨॥

dharam kot jaa kai pratihaar ||2||

Millions of Righteous Judges of Dharma are His gate-keepers. ||2||

ਪਵਨ ਕੋਟਿ ਚਉਬਾਰੇ ਫਿਰਹਿ ॥

pavan kot chaubaare phirahi ||

Millions of winds blow around Him in the four directions.

ਬਾਸਕ ਕੋਟਿ ਸੇਜ ਬਿਸਥਰਹਿ ॥

baasak kot sej bisatharahi ||

Millions of serpents prepare His bed.

ਸਮੁੰਦ ਕੋਟਿ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਪਾਨੀਹਾਰ ॥

samu(n)d kot jaa ke paaneehaar ||

Millions of oceans are His water-carriers.

ਰੋਮਾਵਲਿ ਕੋਟਿ ਅਠਾਰਹ ਭਾਰ ॥੩॥

romaaval kot athaarah bhaar ||3||

The eighteen million loads of vegetation are His Hair. ||3||

ਕੋਟਿ ਕਮੇਰ ਭਰਹਿ ਭੰਡਾਰ ॥

kot kamer bharahi bha(n)daar ||

Millions of treasurers fill His Treasury.

ਕੋਟਿਕ ਲਖਿਮੀ ਕਰੈ ਸੀਗਾਰ ॥

kotik lakhimee karai seegaar ||

Millions of Lakshmis adorn themselves for Him.

ਕੋਟਿਕ ਪਾਪ ਪੁੰਨ ਬਹੁ ਹਿਰਹਿ ॥

kotik paap pu(n)n bahu hirahi ||

Many millions of vices and virtues look up to Him.

ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਕੋਟਿ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਹਿ ॥੪॥

i(n)dr kot jaa ke sevaa karahi ||4||

Millions of Indras serve Him. ||4||

ਛਪਨ ਕੋਟਿ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਹਾਰ ॥

chhapan kot jaa kai pratihaar ||

Fifty-six million clouds are His.

ਨਗਰੀ ਨਗਰੀ ਖਿਅਤ ਅਪਾਰ ॥

nagaree nagaree khiat apaar ||

In each and every village, His infinite fame has spread.

ਲਟ ਛੂਟੀ ਵਰਤੈ ਬਿਕਰਾਲ ॥

lat chhootee varatai bikaraal ||

Wild demons with dishevelled hair move about.

ਕੋਟਿ ਕਲਾ ਖੇਲੈ ਗੋਪਾਲ ॥੫॥

kot kalaa khelai gopaal ||5||

The Lord plays in countless ways. ||5||

ਕੋਟਿ ਜਗ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਦਰਬਾਰ ॥

kot jag jaa kai darabaar ||

Millions of charitable feasts are held in His Court,

ਗੰਧ੍ਰਬ ਕੋਟਿ ਕਰਹਿ ਜੈਕਾਰ ॥

ga(n)dhrab kot karahi jaikaar ||

and millions of celestial singers celebrate His victory.

ਬਿਦਿਆ ਕੋਟਿ ਸਭੈ ਗੁਨ ਕਹੈ ॥

bidiaa kot sabhai gun kahai ||

Millions of sciences all sing His Praises.

ਤਊ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਕਾ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਲਹੈ ॥੬॥

taoo paarabraham kaa a(n)t na lahai ||6||

Even so, the limits of the Supreme Lord God cannot be found. ||6||

ਬਾਵਨ ਕੋਟਿ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਰੋਮਾਵਲੀ ॥

baavan kot jaa kai romaavalee ||

Rama, with millions of monkeys,

ਰਾਵਨ ਸੈਨਾ ਜਹ ਤੇ ਛਲੀ ॥

raavan sainaa jah te chhalee ||

Conquered Raawan's army.

ਸਹਸ ਕੋਟਿ ਬਹੁ ਕਹਤ ਪੁਰਾਨ ॥

sahas kot bahu kahat puraan ||

Billions of Puraanas greatly praise Him;

ਦੁਰਜੋਧਨ ਕਾ ਮਥਿਆ ਮਾਨੁ ॥੭॥

durajodhan kaa mathiaa maan ||7||

He humbled the pride of Duyodhan. ||7||

ਕੰਦ੍ਰਪ ਕੋਟਿ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਲਵੈ ਨ ਧਰਹਿ ॥

ka(n)drap kot jaa kai lavai na dharahi ||

Millions of gods of love cannot compete with Him.

ਅੰਤਰ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਮਨਸਾ ਹਰਹਿ ॥

a(n)tar a(n)tar manasaa harahi ||

He steals the hearts of mortal beings.

ਕਹਿ ਕਬੀਰ ਸੁਨਿ ਸਾਰਿਗਪਾਨ ॥

kahi kabeer sun saarigapaan ||

Says Kabeer, please hear me, O Lord of the World.

ਦੇਹਿ ਅਭੈ ਪਦੁ ਮਾਂਗਉ ਦਾਨ ॥੮॥੨॥੧੮॥੨੦॥

dehi abhai pad maa(n)gau daan ||8||2||18||20||

O my tongue, I will cut you into a hundred pieces,

ਜਾਮਿ ਨ ਉਚਰਸਿ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ॥੧॥

jaam na ucharas sree gobi(n)d ||1||

if you do not chant the Name of the Lord. ||1||

ਰੰਗੀ ਲੇ ਜਿਹਬਾ ਹਰਿ ਕੈ ਨਾਇ ॥

ra(n)gee le jihabaa har kai naai ||

O my tongue, be imbued with the Lord's Name.

ਸੁਰੰਗ ਰੰਗੀਲੇ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

sura(n)g ra(n)geele har har dhiaai ||1|| rahaau ||

Meditate on the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, and imbue yourself with this most excellent color. ||1||Pause||

ਮਿਥਿਆ ਜਿਹਬਾ ਅਵਰੇਂ ਕਾਮ ॥

mithiaa jihabaa avare(n) kaam ||

O my tongue, other occupations are false.

ਨਿਰਬਾਣ ਪਦੁ ਇਕੁ ਹਰਿ ਕੋ ਨਾਮੁ ॥੨॥

nirabaan pad ik har ko naam ||2||

The state of Nirvaanaa comes only through the Lord's Name. ||2||

ਅਸੰਖ ਕੋਟਿ ਅਨ ਪੂਜਾ ਕਰੀ ॥

asa(n)kh kot an poojaa karee ||

The performance of countless millions of other devotions

ਏਕ ਨ ਪੂਜਸਿ ਨਾਮੈ ਹਰੀ ॥੩॥

ek na poojas naamai haree ||3||

is not equal to even one devotion to the Name of the Lord. ||3||

ਪ੍ਰਣਵੈ ਨਾਮਦੇਉ ਇਹੁ ਕਰਣਾ ॥

pranavai naamadeu ihu karanaa ||

Prays Naam Dayv, this is my occupation.

ਅਨੰਤ ਰੂਪ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਰਾਇਣਾ ॥੪॥੧॥

ana(n)t roop tere naaraainaa ||4||1||

O Lord, Your Forms are endless. ||4||1||

ਪਰ ਧਨ ਪਰ ਦਾਰਾ ਪਰਹਰੀ ॥

par dhan par daaraa paraharee ||

One who stays away from others' wealth and others' spouses

ਤਾ ਕੈ ਨਿਕਟਿ ਬਸੈ ਨਰਹਰੀ ॥੧॥

taa kai nikat basai naraharee ||1||

- the Lord abides near that person. ||1||

ਜੋ ਨ ਭਜੰਤੇ ਨਾਰਾਇਣਾ ॥

jo na bhaja(n)te naaraainaa ||

Those who do not meditate and vibrate on the Lord

ਤਿਨ ਕਾ ਮੈ ਨ ਕਰਉ ਦਰਸਨਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

tin kaa mai na karau darasanaa ||1|| rahaau ||

- I do not even want to see them. ||1||Pause||

ਜਿਨ ਕੈ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਹੈ ਅੰਤਰਾ ॥

jin kai bheetar hai a(n)taraa ||

Those whose inner beings are not in harmony with the Lord,

ਜੈਸੇ ਪਸੁ ਤੈਸੇ ਓਇ ਨਰਾ ॥੨॥

jaise pas taise oi naraa ||2||

are nothing more than beasts. ||2||

ਪ੍ਰਣਵਤਿ ਨਾਮਦੇਉ ਨਾਕਹਿ ਬਿਨਾ ॥

pranavat naamadeu naakahi binaa ||

Prays Naam Dayv, a man without a nose

ਨਾ ਸੋਹੈ ਬਤੀਸ ਲਖਨਾ ॥੩॥੨॥

naa sohai batees lakhanaa ||3||2||

does not look handsome, even if he has the thirty-two beauty marks. ||3||2||

ਦੂਧੁ ਕਟੋਰੈ ਗਡਵੈ ਪਾਨੀ ॥

doodh katorai gadavai paanee ||

Naam Dayv milked the brown cow,

ਕਪਲ ਗਾਇ ਨਾਮੈ ਦੁਹਿ ਆਨੀ ॥੧॥

kapal gaai naamai duhi aanee ||1||

And brought a cup of milk and a jug of water to his family god. ||1||

ਦੂਧੁ ਪੀਉ ਗੋਬਿੰਦੇ ਰਾਇ ॥

doodh peeu gobi(n)de raai ||

"Please drink this milk, O my Sovereign Lord God.

ਦੂਧੁ ਪੀਉ ਮੇਰੋ ਮਨੁ ਪਤੀਆਇ ॥

doodh peeu mero man pateeaai ||

Drink this milk and my mind will be happy.

ਨਾਹੀ ਤ ਘਰ ਕੋ ਬਾਪੁ ਰਿਸਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

naahee ta ghar ko baap risaai ||1|| rahaau ||

Otherwise, my father will be angry with me." ||1||Pause||

ਸੋੁਇਨ ਕਟੋਰੀ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਭਰੀ ॥

souin katoree a(n)mrit bharee ||

Taking the golden cup, Naam Dayv filled it with the ambrosial milk,

ਲੈ ਨਾਮੈ ਹਰਿ ਆਗੈ ਧਰੀ ॥੨॥

lai naamai har aagai dharee ||2||

and placed it before the Lord. ||2||

ਏਕੁ ਭਗਤੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਬਸੈ ॥

ek bhagat mere hirade basai ||

The Lord looked upon Naam Dayv and smiled.

ਨਾਮੇ ਦੇਖਿ ਨਰਾਇਨੁ ਹਸੈ ॥੩॥

naame dekh naraain hasai ||3||

"This one devotee abides within my heart." ||3||

ਦੂਧੁ ਪੀਆਇ ਭਗਤੁ ਘਰਿ ਗਇਆ ॥

doodh peeaai bhagat ghar gaiaa ||

The Lord drank the milk, and the devotee returned home.
