ਗੁਰਸਬਦੀ ਹਰਿ ਭਜੁ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਸਮਾਇਣੁ ॥੧॥

gurasabadee har bhaj surat samaain ||1||

Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, vibrate and meditate on the Lord; let your awareness be absorbed in Him. ||1||

ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਹਰਿ ਭਜੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਰਾਇਣੁ ॥

mere man har bhaj naam naraain ||

O my mind, vibrate and meditate on the Lord and the Name of the Lord.

ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰੇ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਭਵਜਲੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਤਰਾਇਣੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

har har kripaa kare sukhadaataa guramukh bhavajal har naam taraain ||1|| rahaau ||

The Lord, Har, Har, the Giver of Peace, grants His Grace; the Gurmukh crosses over the terrifying world-ocean through the Name of the Lord. ||1||Pause||

ਸੰਗਤਿ ਸਾਧ ਮੇਲਿ ਹਰਿ ਗਾਇਣੁ ॥

sa(n)gat saadh mel har gaain ||

Joining the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, sing of the Lord.

ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਲੇ ਰਾਮ ਰਸਾਇਣੁ ॥੨॥

guramatee le raam rasaain ||2||

Follow the Guru's Teachings, and you shall obtain the Lord, the Source of Nectar. ||2||

ਗੁਰ ਸਾਧੂ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਗਿਆਨ ਸਰਿ ਨਾਇਣੁ ॥

gur saadhoo a(n)mrit giaan sar naain ||

Bathe in the pool of ambrosial nectar, the spiritual wisdom of the Holy Guru.

ਸਭਿ ਕਿਲਵਿਖ ਪਾਪ ਗਏ ਗਾਵਾਇਣੁ ॥੩॥

sabh kilavikh paap gae gaavaain ||3||

All sins will be eliminated and eradicated. ||3||

ਤੂ ਆਪੇ ਕਰਤਾ ਸ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਧਰਾਇਣੁ ॥

too aape karataa srisat dharaain ||

You Yourself are the Creator, the Support of the Universe.

ਜਨੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਮੇਲਿ ਤੇਰਾ ਦਾਸ ਦਸਾਇਣੁ ॥੪॥੧॥

jan naanak mel teraa daas dasaain ||4||1||

Please unite servant Nanak with Yourself; he is the slave of Your slaves. ||4||1||

Bhairao, Fourth Mehl:

ਬੋਲਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਫਲ ਸਾ ਘਰੀ ॥

bol har naam saphal saa gharee ||

Fruitful is that moment when the Lord's Name is spoken.

ਗੁਰ ਉਪਦੇਸਿ ਸਭਿ ਦੁਖ ਪਰਹਰੀ ॥੧॥

gur upades sabh dukh paraharee ||1||

Following the Guru's Teachings, all pains are taken away. ||1||

ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਹਰਿ ਭਜੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਰਹਰੀ ॥

mere man har bhaj naam naraharee ||

O my mind, vibrate the Name of the Lord.

ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਮੇਲਹੁ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਸਿੰਧੁ ਭਉ ਤਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

kar kirapaa melahu gur pooraa satasa(n)gat sa(n)g si(n)dh bhau taree ||1|| rahaau ||

O Lord, be merciful, and unite me with the Perfect Guru. Joining with the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation, I shall cross over the terrifying world-ocean. ||1||Pause||

ਜਗਜੀਵਨੁ ਧਿਆਇ ਮਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰੀ ॥

jagajeevan dhiaai man har simaree ||

Meditate on the Life of the World; remember the Lord in your mind.

ਕੋਟ ਕੋਟੰਤਰ ਤੇਰੇ ਪਾਪ ਪਰਹਰੀ ॥੨॥

kot kota(n)tar tere paap paraharee ||2||

Millions upon millions of your sins shall be taken away. ||2||

ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਸਾਧ ਧੂਰਿ ਮੁਖਿ ਪਰੀ ॥

satasa(n)gat saadh dhoor mukh paree ||

In the Sat Sangat, apply the dust of the feet of the holy to your face;

ਇਸਨਾਨੁ ਕੀਓ ਅਠਸਠਿ ਸੁਰਸਰੀ ॥੩॥

isanaan keeo athasath surasaree ||3||

this is how to bathe in the sixty-eight sacred shrines, and the Ganges. ||3||

ਹਮ ਮੂਰਖ ਕਉ ਹਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰੀ ॥

ham moorakh kau har kirapaa karee ||

I am a fool; the Lord has shown mercy to me.

ਜਨੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਤਾਰਿਓ ਤਾਰਣ ਹਰੀ ॥੪॥੨॥

jan naanak taario taaran haree ||4||2||

The Savior Lord has saved servant Nanak. ||4||2||

ਸੁਕ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਕਰਣੀ ਸਾਰੁ ਜਪਮਾਲੀ ॥

sukrit karanee saar japamaalee ||

To do good deeds is the best rosary.

ਹਿਰਦੈ ਫੇਰਿ ਚਲੈ ਤੁਧੁ ਨਾਲੀ ॥੧॥

hiradai pher chalai tudh naalee ||1||

Chant on the beads within your heart, and it shall go along with you. ||1||

ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਹੁ ਬਨਵਾਲੀ ॥

har har naam japahu banavaalee ||

Chant the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, the Lord of the forest.

ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਮੇਲਹੁ ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਤੂਟਿ ਗਈ ਮਾਇਆ ਜਮ ਜਾਲੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

kar kirapaa melahu satasa(n)gat toot gaee maaiaa jam jaalee ||1|| rahaau ||

Have mercy on me, Lord, and unite me with the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation, so that I may be released from Maya's noose of death. ||1||Pause||

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸੇਵਾ ਘਾਲ ਜਿਨਿ ਘਾਲੀ ॥

guramukh sevaa ghaal jin ghaalee ||

Whoever, as Gurmukh, serves and works hard,

ਤਿਸੁ ਘੜੀਐ ਸਬਦੁ ਸਚੀ ਟਕਸਾਲੀ ॥੨॥

tis ghaReeai sabad sachee takasaalee ||2||

is molded and shaped in the true mint of the Shabad, the Word of God. ||2||

ਹਰਿ ਅਗਮ ਅਗੋਚਰੁ ਗੁਰਿ ਅਗਮ ਦਿਖਾਲੀ ॥

har agam agochar gur agam dikhaalee ||

The Guru has revealed to me the Inaccessible and Unfathomable Lord.

ਵਿਚਿ ਕਾਇਆ ਨਗਰ ਲਧਾ ਹਰਿ ਭਾਲੀ ॥੩॥

vich kaaiaa nagar ladhaa har bhaalee ||3||

Searching within the body-village, I have found the Lord. ||3||

ਹਮ ਬਾਰਿਕ ਹਰਿ ਪਿਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲੀ ॥

ham baarik har pitaa pratipaalee ||

I am just a child; the Lord is my Father, who nurtures and cherishes me.

ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਾਰਹੁ ਨਦਰਿ ਨਿਹਾਲੀ ॥੪॥੩॥

jan naanak taarahu nadar nihaalee ||4||3||

Please save servant Nanak, Lord; bless him with Your Glance of Grace. ||4||3||

ਸਭਿ ਘਟ ਤੇਰੇ ਤੂ ਸਭਨਾ ਮਾਹਿ ॥

sabh ghat tere too sabhanaa maahi ||

All hearts are Yours, Lord; You are in all.

ਤੁਝ ਤੇ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਕੋਈ ਨਾਹਿ ॥੧॥

tujh te baahar koee naahi ||1||

There is nothing at all except You. ||1||

ਹਰਿ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਜਾਪੁ ॥

har sukhadaataa mere man jaap ||

O my mind, meditate on the Lord, the Giver of peace.

ਹਉ ਤੁਧੁ ਸਾਲਾਹੀ ਤੂ ਮੇਰਾ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਬਾਪੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

hau tudh saalaahee too meraa har prabh baap ||1|| rahaau ||

I praise You, O Lord God, You are my Father. ||1||Pause||

ਜਹ ਜਹ ਦੇਖਾ ਤਹ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੋਇ ॥

jah jah dekhaa tah har prabh soi ||

Wherever I look, I see only the Lord God.

ਸਭ ਤੇਰੈ ਵਸਿ ਦੂਜਾ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥੨॥

sabh terai vas doojaa avar na koi ||2||

All are under Your control; there is no other at all. ||2||

ਜਿਸ ਕਉ ਤੁਮ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਖਿਆ ਭਾਵੈ ॥

jis kau tum har raakhiaa bhaavai ||

O Lord, when it is Your Will to save someone,

ਤਿਸ ਕੈ ਨੇੜੈ ਕੋਇ ਨ ਜਾਵੈ ॥੩॥

tis kai neRai koi na jaavai ||3||

then nothing can threaten him. ||3||

ਤੂ ਜਲਿ ਥਲਿ ਮਹੀਅਲਿ ਸਭ ਤੈ ਭਰਪੂਰਿ ॥

too jal thal maheeal sabh tai bharapoor ||

You are totally pervading and permeating the waters, the lands, the skies and all places.

ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿ ਹਾਜਰਾ ਹਜੂਰਿ ॥੪॥੪॥

jan naanak har jap haajaraa hajoor ||4||4||

Servant Nanak meditates on the Ever-present Lord. ||4||4||

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥

One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:

ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਸੰਤੁ ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਹਰਿ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਜਿਸੁ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਮੁਰਾਰਿ ॥

har kaa sa(n)t har kee har moorat jis hiradai har naam muraar ||

The Lord's Saint is the embodiment of the Lord; within his heart is the Name of the Lord.

ਮਸਤਕਿ ਭਾਗੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਜਿਸੁ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਸੋ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਮੑਾਰਿ ॥੧॥

masatak bhaag hovai jis likhiaa so guramat hiradai har naam samhaar ||1||

One who has such destiny inscribed on his forehead, follows the Guru's Teachings, and contemplates the Name of the Lord within his heart. ||1||
